Ross Electronics is an American guitar effects pedal brand founded by Charles A. "Bud" Ross in Chanute, Kansas, in the mid-1970s. After selling his earlier company Kustom Amplification to Baldwin Pianos in 1972, Bud Ross turned to effects pedals, releasing the first Ross-branded units around 1974. The original lineup included the Compressor, Distortion, and Phase R1, housed in distinctive pastel-colored enclosures.

The brand is best known for the Ross Compressor, a circuit derived from and refined beyond the MXR Dyna Comp that became a cult favorite for its warm, musical compression. Other notable pedals from the vintage era include the Phaser, Flanger, Chorus, and various distortion and fuzz units. Original Ross pedals became highly collectible on the vintage market, with many considered benchmark examples of 1970s American effects design.

The brand was revived by Cameron Ross, Bud Ross's grandson, who relaunched the company alongside Ben Brazil after reverse-engineering the original circuits. A later licensing partnership with JHS Pedals produced reissues of the Compressor, Distortion, Chorus, Phaser, and Fuzz before the brand returned to Ross family stewardship, continuing to build on the original catalog with updated versions of the classic effects.

Ross has 24 products cataloged on Equipboard, including Phaser Effects Pedals, Distortion Effects Pedals, and Compressor Effects Pedals. Their gear is featured by 26 artists, with the strongest followings in Rock, Pop, and Funk / Soul. Notable users include Ronald Jones, Butch Walker, and Josh Augustin. Ross's catalog spans the full price spectrum — from entry-level options to high-end flagships.
