Sabian is a Canadian cymbal manufacturer founded in 1981 by Robert Zildjian in the village of Meductic, New Brunswick. The company name is derived from the first two letters of Robert's three children's names — Sally, Billy, and Andy. Robert established Sabian after parting ways with the Zildjian family business, and the company quickly grew to produce 45,000 cymbals in its first year, launching with the AA (Automatic Anvil) and HH (Hand Hammered) series that remain cornerstones of the lineup. Sabian is recognized as one of the "big four" cymbal manufacturers alongside Zildjian, Meinl, and Paiste.

Sabian's product range spans a wide variety of cymbal series tailored to different playing styles and genres. The AAX series offers bright attack and shimmering sustain suited for high-volume settings, while the HHX line — including sub-series like Evolution (developed with Dave Weckl), Anthology (developed with Jojo Mayer), Legacy, and Complex — delivers darker, more nuanced tones.
