Paiste is known for pioneering cymbal alloys and manufacturing techniques that set it apart from competitors. The Formula 602 series, developed in the late 1950s, and the 2002 series from the late 1960s brought the company international recognition. The product range spans professional lines like the Signature, Masters, and RUDE series down to entry-level options like the PST 3 and 101 Brass, along with gongs and orchestral percussion. Paiste's proprietary CuSn8 bronze alloy (marketed as "2002 bronze") is a hallmark of many of its lines.
Paiste cymbals have been used by a wide range of prominent drummers across genres, including John Bonham of Led Zeppelin, Stewart Copeland of The Police, Nick Mason of Pink Floyd, Chad Smith of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Danny Carey of Tool, and Nicko McBrain of Iron Maiden. The company maintains an artist roster of over a thousand endorsed players.
