Ben uses a focusrite scarlet to run audio and midi data to and from Ableton live. he states it is a simple setup, but it get the job done. Ben sends 2 lines out from the focusrite. one line is taken from the focusrite to his yamaha mg10 for ben to hear tracks and sample from ableton. another from the focusrite goes to the behringer x32 for the bands in ear mix. ben then takes a xlr out from the x32 and sends it to the yamaha mg10 in order to have his own independent in ear mix
Ben uses a yamaha multi 12 drum pad. the pad triggers tracks in ableton that run click, backing tracks, and samples. He runs this with midi out from the focusrite. Through midi he has 2 pads designated to go up or down the tracks in ableton. A third pad is set to trigger playback of the entire song.
