Sansui is a Japanese audio electronics brand founded in 1947 in Tokyo by Kosaku Kikuchi, who began the company manufacturing radio transformers before expanding into audio components in the 1950s. The brand became internationally known through the 1960s and 1970s for its tube and solid-state hi-fi gear, particularly its integrated amplifiers, tuners, and stereo receivers.

Sansui's silver-faced AU-series integrated amplifiers (such as the AU-717, AU-919, and AU-X1), matching TU-series tuners, and the high-powered G-series receivers — including the G-9000 and G-9000DB — are among the most collected pieces of vintage Japanese audio gear. The company also produced quadraphonic equipment, including the QS-1 Quadphonic Synthesizer and the QRX series of four-channel receivers, along with turntables, cassette decks, and speaker systems.

While Sansui was historically a consumer hi-fi manufacturer rather than a maker of musical instruments or studio gear, its vintage receivers and amplifiers remain in active use among home recording enthusiasts, vinyl collectors, and musicians who value warm-sounding analog playback chains. The Sansui name has since been licensed to other manufacturers for newer consumer audio products including speakers, headphones, soundbars, and turntables.
