SM Pro Audio is an Australian audio equipment manufacturer founded in 2001 in Melbourne by two musician friends. Originally operating under the parent company Sound and Music (Audio Supermarket Pty Ltd), the brand began by designing microphone preamplifiers, DI units, and headphone amplifiers. The company gained recognition in 2004 with the introduction of the M-Patch, a passive monitor attenuator that offered an affordable solution for controlling active monitor volume in home and professional studios. The M-Patch line expanded to include the M-Patch 2 (with headphone amp, mono summing, and speaker switching), the Nano Patch+ (a compact desktop volume attenuator), and the M-Patch Active-1 (adding USB audio and studio talkback).

SM Pro Audio's product catalog also includes multi-channel mic preamps such as the PR8 and PR8E (eight-channel units with phantom power), the tube-based TCO2 dual-channel preamp/compressor, and the V-Machine — a standalone hardware host for Windows VST/VSTi plugins that allows keyboard players and DJs to run software instruments and effects live without a computer. In 2015, Harman International (a Samsung subsidiary) acquired SM Pro Audio and integrated the Melbourne-based team into its Professional Division. The SM Pro engineering group went on to contribute to product development across Harman's portfolio of professional audio brands, including work on the Soundcraft Ui series of remote-controlled digital mixers.
