I think this is a Biyang pedal, polished up and re-badged by Akai. That said, it's basically a Big Muff type fuzz which, for the price, gives me plenty of range with the tone knob and versatility with the muffy/warm/boost switch. It's got enough oomph to provide the requisite amount of face-melting fuzz/distortion for me, but then again, I'm not that good a guitar player and am still only beginning to venture onto that road to hell that is the mythical search for "tone", but for the price, I think it's a good place to start,
