Hey guys, so I want to put a set Yjm's in my strat but I want to switch out the bridge pickup with a humbucker. Do I need to swap out potmeters because a humbucker is 500k or is it ok to just swap out the pickups? Im pretty much new to guitar electronics so any advice would be great. Regards Diego.

Squier Jazz Bass SD vs FD pickups
Hey guys, so a little while ago I got a Squier fretless Jazz Bass (just really great). So mine has Seymour Duncan designed pickups, but when I look the same bass up on Bax Shop, Thomann and other music stores it tends to cost 70 euros more and have Fender designed pickups. So what's the big difference?

Also they don't have to be that expensive, if you can get an old one from around 1850 for 900 euro's you don't have to pay much.

I mean a accoustic bass guitar, upright realily hurts me after a while you know. I've only tried upright 5 times and only half of the time I got a good note out of it, it's way harder than fretless electric bass.

Ok i don't really like the sound of cutaway guitars but haven't tried a cutaway bass so ill try it soon.

Btw I am going to the music store somewhere at the end of this month so ill test some stuff.

So im looking for a third bass, My main onstage bass is my vintage modified fretless jazz bass, my backup/slapbass is a fleabass (finally found the good strings for it). So I was thinking about getting an accoustic or hollowbody.

Hey I just wondered: are violin basses (hofner) also good for accoustic playing? Let me know in the comments.

Well i actually tried one with a decent feel but the next day it was gone

Also about the telecaster, it was the first guitar i played and i still play it at my dads home when he doesn't need it for an peformance. It's a costum build with a swamp ash body, maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. About the SG, I want to get one but i think ill need to try a lot of different models before i find one with a decent feel (i just really like the sound)

The first time i played a ephiphone sg it felt great but the time i tried one in a used shop it felt terrible so I myself think that some are great and some are like jimmy said firewood

The same basses just sound different.... why?
I mean like you have two the same squier j basses with the same pickups wood ect. Sometimes the EXACT same model sounds different

The same basses just sound different.... why?
So i know that some basses and guitars are just the same model but one has a way better sound (for example some squiers are fender worthy and some aren't). So i never actually got a good explanition it came to be that way (sorry for my band English).

Best and worst bass you've played?
Best 3 basses: fender marcus miller bass, fleabass (stingray with a less good element), fender squier fm fretless jazz bass Worst: My 32 scale fleabass and all basses with only one pickup thats almost next to the neck

My worst guitar: (I have had 2 in the 8 months that ive been playing and i can also burrow a strat and a tele) The ibanez gio (strat design) this thing was so horrible. This was my grandfathers old guitar and it just really sucked. My new guitar is a motion strat, it's comperable to a squier strat (not the bullet one). Also the guitars that I can burrow are a fender american standard 80's strat with mods and a costum telecaster made out of swamp ash.

Hey there, so i just found a rosewood neck and body for a les paul while cleaning a friends house and I got to keep it so a little while after that I started thinking about making a costum les paul. So my question is: Should I stick to the rosewood or should i get mahogany?

Fender squier fretless or american standard or standard or jaco model or us deluxe
I think its good for the price, i dont have 1700 euro's to buy a normal american deluxe (deluxe is resold for 850 euro's) so i think i'll go for a synth and squier first, later i will sell it for a new bass (fender)
