Identifying the gear

This is mine, actually. It's a tele I'm borrowing long term, only when I went to check out what it was I couldn't find it. I've added it to my gear pics, and I've put an imgur link here: http://imgur.com/9nQjXhe

That shows the front of it, its SH, with a regular tele single in the bridge, and a generic plated humbucker in the neck, both stock I believe, regular electrics, maple neck, and rosewood pickguard. The stock says fender, but its actually a sticker, its made by squire, and it says so on the neckplate. Made in Indonesia. Its the colour that's odd, and that's why I can't find it, otherwise the same spec pretty as this: https://tse1.mm.bing.net/th?&id=OIP.Mabef68834d8f5c253710896464a4ce44o0&w=225&h=300&c=0&pid=1.9&rs=0&p=0&r=0

Anybody found any new artists recently

I was browsing the old bandcamp recently and under the tag "Looping" discovered this Welsh gem:

https://righthandlefthand.bandcamp.com/

I could do with a decent looper, I've been using my built in one, on the x4, but that makes using delay awkward, within loops, and its only single channel. I'm eyeing up the TC ditto x4, seems decent for live use.

Your musician pet peeves

The C G Am F (I V VI IV) chord progression, so overused its painful.

Modern pop in general, though that's a bit of a cliché answer.

To be honest the worst is being prejudiced against, because of age. I was talking to a guy at my church a few weeks back: I was checking out his board, and he replied "Hey who're you, etc?", so I told him, politely, and formally who, and how old I was with a good level of maturity, if that's worth noting. He replied in a patronising manor: "These are called pedals, this green, and yellow one is an overdrive, it makes your guitar sound angry. It cost me £30, and I know to a 13 year old that might sound a lot, but for a...". And he continued. Eventually I politely pulled out.

That's just one event.

Gear Purchases

I'd agree with that, but then again one bucker isn't really my taste, and if I was going for one pup it'd either be P90 in the bridge (i.e: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-Gibson-Les-Paul-Junior-Double-Cutaway-Faded-Cherry-Electric-Guitar-w-OHSC-/122042774014?hash=item1c6a50f1fe)

Or one bucker in the neck a la http://usa.yamaha.com/products/musical-instruments/guitars-basses/el-guitars/hollow_body_series/aex1500/

I just saw this, I can't afford it, but it looks pretty sick (As in cool, not just the feeling in your stomach upon seeing the colour). Maybe its just my ginger instincts

I was checking yours out to Jim, what's that Greco like? I've never really seen one before, I thought it was a Yamaha, but it seems to be a quality built LP/LPJ rip off?

Walrus, I was looking at your profile, how come you have so many cheap, £150-£200 strats? Surely you could just save all that rather than by a number of beginner instruments? Sorry, not too off topic.

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

What on earth do you mean Jim, I heard Hendrix, Clapton, Page, and Van Halen all used Epiphone eknock off Les Pauls, through BOSS Metal Zones, into Roland cubes. Hendrix, when interviewed by NME; "I use this to make metal yo"...

Complaints, Concerns, Errors, Suggestions, and Ideas!

I was wondering about a little box next to the artist, or some other way to store none-gear info, i.e tuning, maybe string gauge, preffered settings on pedals, and amps, etc. Or should we just attach those to the gear itself if we can find them?

How can I change my Soundcloud link?

We've had a thread about this already. The main guys'd have to do it from within, and they've only done it for a few users. The same situation happened to me, and I just put my new soundcloud in my link, and said in my bio to use that one

Good God, I had no idea, that's a bit mad. I looked up, and you're right, with the exception of European Russia, Texas is larger than every European country. England goes in 5.36 times approximately!

Difference between Looper FX and the "Hold" setting on Boss DD-5 or DD-7 ???

Sorry for the NP, just thought I'd answer.

Essentially I believe that the dd5, and dd6 hold features are just a lot shorter than that of the dd7. Despite Boss' intentions I don't think m/any artists use the looper features as bona fide loopers, for live use, as they are no match for things like the ditto, and little boss loopers they'd compete with.

The built in loopers on the boss effects just aren't as easy to use in a live environment, as you'd need really quick feet, for all the tapping (Though tbh its the same on the ditto 1)

However people such as Denver Dally use the Hold on the boss loopers for a stutter effect, which is easy to pull off on the dd6 especially apparently, a little like the digidelay.

The only way to fix this sort of thing is to clamp down on your fkn crazy gun laws! The rest of the world just seem to marvel at how lax it is. In Britain we tied all the knots on our gun laws twenty years ago, after a mass shooting at a primary school in Scotland, that nearly killed Andy Murray, and I'm grateful for that, endlessly. How do you guys manage to feel safe, day to day?

Which one of you was it that funded your pedalboard by starring in a mayonnaise ad?

I was remembering earlier this week, while procrastinating on pedalboard planner... How did it go?

Adding Bands to an Artist's Page?

That wasn't what he was getting at, I don't think.

Diego, I don't think you can add yourself, as a regular user. You'd need to have a pro page for yourself, but that in itself has guidelines - You get deleted if you do something like that. I don't know quite where the line is to be eligible for a pro page.

The English education system is far from perfect, but I say that in bated breath, because as I speak my computer is being monitored potentially, by an attendant.

I could go into more detail, though I frankly can't really be bothered, its been a long day (Bloody skip-a-thons...), and I have to stay back at school, before going onto a rehearsal place, 45 minutes walk through a miserable walk away, to allegedly put together an acoustic set for an acoustic concert on Friday, with my band, because for the last weeks I haven't had a decent acoustic available, and then when I do our singer, and bass player doesn't tell us, she's playing cello in a care home...

As a positive though, my school's just changed internet blockers, meaning that even though this new one is a lot tighter, and I can get onto Bandcamp, so I'me using that, going through some TTNG EPs.

UK Has Left European Union

Yeah, I didn't have a decent amount of time, I had to get changed for a school skip-a-thon, for the BHF (Such joy - I don't understand why I can't just donate, and do nothing, as opposed to donate, and then have to endure an hour of unnecessary pain).

Essentiually, the Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn has had a great number of his senior team quit on him, and a 170 - 40 call to resign, but is staying in despite, being utterly useless at politics; he's an unelectable leader, with no leadership skills, or sense of organisation, authority, and awareness, and he's creating an unelectable, undesirable, more useless hard left party. Currently people are rallying behind him, a bloke called Hilary Benn, who is quite good, and a few others, and most likely a leadership contest will be triggered.

Obviously David Cameroen has stood down, has stood down, obviously, so a new leader is required, however there are NO good candidates, just who's the least of a slimy git, Boris is standing, with Gove backing him as a future CotE, Theresa May is standing, and she's a cow, on a mission to make every peasant, emergency service, and common worker hate her, as is Jeremy Hunt, the most hated man in Britain, who is responsible for a lot of hatred against the NHS, specifically triggering some major strikes earlier this year.

Anyone bought any new cds or downloaded anything or gowever you get your music?

I could agree with that, any Floyd really. By the way, if you did get tickets for TTNG, I think he's touring with Mylets, so, sorry to be a pain, but could you see what guitar he's using, I still can't find it anywhere (http://audiotree.tv/session/mylets)? He also has a backup, which I think is my model of JM if I'm not mistaken

Bass VIs

Funnily enough the bloke from Aerosmith uses that Music Man Bass vi for back in the saddle, according to rig rundown

10yabout 10 years ago

Bass VIs

Anybody tried one; opinions?

I did the other day, and its safe to say its odd really, I wasn't quite sure what to do, as you can't play bass stuff on it, the string spacing is too bad for good slap, or regular finger picking, and you can't really play guitar stuff either, chords sound muddy, and leads are just a little too low.

Also what do you make of this http://www.music-man.com/instruments/guitars/silhouette-bass Never really seen one, or heard of it, so is it just another bass vi style thing.

UK Has Left European Union

Well, that's not strictly true, the Euro is a trainwreck, that's worked well for a few countries, and ruined others. We were doing just fine until our nation succumbed to its paranoia around immigration, and economical situtations, and went for the right wing side, thus causing a mass pullout, and a drop. As a country we're very, if not overly protective of our "sovereignty", and independence, and because of that people are very resistant to the idea of being part of a big institution, in fact one of the main arguments of the out campaign, was that a European super state is being built, which is not thoroughly untrue.

Generally I support the EU, and staying in it, though a thorough reform of the whole thing needs to take place, starting with a democraticisation; nobody knows, let alone can vote for the people who represent them, to x degree, and make the rules we have to abide by, some of which are really daft, and have killed various industries, with OTT regs.English fishing is more dead than Lazarus...it died for a bit, but it'll come back now, unless its part of the deal we strike, to hand back control of it still.

UK Has Left European Union

We're fucked is the sum of it

How much do you know?

If it means anything, the main events to follow are...

a, Scotland will hold another IndieRef, and it is basically confirmed they will leave, which will mean will Labour(Left) will no longer be able to form a government in Britain, and with such a shite Lib Dem(centre left) party, we are left with perpetual Tories (Right), which is pretty bad. This will probably mean a shitload of privatisation, and all round unthinkable negatrives.

b, The pound is fucked, recession here we come

c, We will have Boris Johnson as PM, and he's a nasty piece of work, he appears all fluffy, and useless, but he's a slimy right wing dickhead, probably worse than George Osborne (Chancellor of the exchequer), who was the other option if we stayed, of course after DC has stepped down. He will appoint Michael Gove as the new COTE, and he is one of the most hated individuals in British politics, after completely fucking up English education.

d, Not much in terms of difference, we still have to pay what is actually a reasonable rate for a trade deal, and we'll have to follow some of their rules as well, only we won't get anything back. Places like Newcastle, and Sheffield have massively benefitted from EU funding, and it supports a lot of things. The EU also creates better workers rights, and has a lot of business, and economical shiz attached to it, even if just by name, which are now pulling out of London

British politics is a million miles away from your American counterparts, its a lot more party, a lot less personality, we don't pick our party leaders, and we have a lot more major parties.

Conservative/Whig/Tory = Right wing, lassez faire pigs, with a help out your rich mates attitude. Dicks

Labour = Fronted by useless, far left wreck Jeremy Corbyn, the party's fallen to pieces, and is a car crash of anti-Semitism, and bad leadership, nobody knows whats going on

Lib Dems = Great Joke

Green Part = Who gives a shit bout politics, y'all need fucking trees. Also fronted by an Australian...

UKIP = Far right group of racists, who've got a lot tamer since the GE, where they lost a tonne of MPs. Fronted by walking joke Nigel Farge; looks like a muppet, drinks like an alcoholic

BNP/Britain first/ = Even more racist. A Britain first member killed an MP last week
