my main bass Lola (1984 Squier B-34 Bullet Bass, manufactured in either Omachi or Matsumoto City) has been with me for every show i've ever played. unfortunately, playing shows in the northeast means she's been through a lot weather-wise, and due to the fact that i move a lot, she's starting to warp. the bad news: truss rod is fully turned. what do?

Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / Which Stratocaster is the Best?
i do, but only because i like buying vintage used. and if i dont buy it in person then i mke sure to line up a buyer before i even get it myself

get bass overdrive and play with yr knobs! never listened to this specific album but generally 80s rock had a lot of power in the bass's mids and the guitars were hella scooped. so maybe try that on yr EQ.
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / Anyone knows this bass?
idk could be any shitty japanese manufactured 60s-70s bass, they did copies of anything and everything. odds r good you'll find something cheap and in the same vein on reverb rn that you can have on yr doorstep in a week
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / new music I wrote, looking for some feedback!
probably. been working on my singing but i'm not quite there, felt it contributed to the style tho so I left it in. honestly i've listened to it a couple times since release andf the vox have grown on me, thye used to be annoying but they remind me of bands like Prince Daddy & the Hyena

Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / Compressor pedals: do I need it?
fair. i guess i'm very pro-compressor just because i like the sound, but you don't really need it
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / Compressor pedals: do I need it?
and funk. and bass. and switching from a single-coil to a humbucker. and using boost pedals/loud ODs.
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / string gauges on bass
i wanna take a shorty bass down to c# standard but idk anything about string gauges, anyone got a clue?
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / JHS Twin Twelve
Lol. No problem. I'm putting some finishing touches on it, but I have to re record all the drums. Rather not get into it. I'll have a product for you soon™
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / JHS Twin Twelve
true. i could probably get away with selling my older boss pedals i no longer use, but all my other pedals are on my board. i can probably offload my shitty starter amps to some local kids for $100 a pop or so
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / JHS Twin Twelve
awesome. will check it out more thoroughly, nd start saving lmfao
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / JHS Twin Twelve
looks like a cool amp. i'll keep an eye out
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / JHS Twin Twelve

Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / JHS Twin Twelve
sick. will look into almost all of those options... any idea about price/availability
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / JHS Twin Twelve
alright thanks for the advice, time to go shopping hahaha
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / JHS Twin Twelve
yeah. that's what i was thinking, since it's a drive it will lack headroom
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / JHS Twin Twelve
Been GASing for the 1484 recently, but I don't have the money right noe. Worth going for this emulator drive pedal, or just saving for the amp?

can confirm hiwatt is tasty
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / Which Stratocaster is the Best?
jaguars are cool but they're just castrated strats. much prefer jazzmasters. interesting take on a tele over strat. they're too heavy for me but the tone is fantastic so i see where you're coming from.
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / How much does it cost to get your guitar modified?
if you follow jim's advice to a T you'll do great champ
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / How to set up a metal pedalboard
for me, metal's a lot mor doom/sludge/drone and a lot of my favorite artists are sunn users. i agree, trad metal amps are def that post-soldano gain cascading thing. rivera amps are pretty metal too
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / How to set up a metal pedalboard
the only metal amp i'll ever play is a sunn. \m/
but i have never heard of that before-- sounds weird. what's the wattage on it?
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / How to set up a metal pedalboard
that's true, but based on our boy mike's Pantera hankerings i'd bet on some extra bass in that eq for sure
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / How to set up a metal pedalboard
In all seriousness, man, don't scoop the mids (or at least not too extremely). They'll keep you in the mix, but I do recommend bosting bass and treble a bit mroe for that br00t4l sound
Posted in Guitarists & Bassists / How to set up a metal pedalboard
tuner -> eq -> wah -> od -> dist -> fuzz -> delay/reverb -> modulation
