Upgraded pickups?

recommend 1x12, since you're concerned about loudness. a 2x12 moves more air and will be louder so if you've got cranky neighbors it's not the best purchase

Best micro amp

ever need tips, just ask Jim. dude's a veritable wizard

Best micro amp

that's... a) ridiculous but b) kinda hard to do. i think the quilter might be your best bet but even that can get loud. sounds like you just need to learn to dial it in

Upgraded pickups?

shit, that's crazy. tbh i almost bought one, and I'm really fucking glad i didn't now.

Worth saying that the Joyo is enough wattage and volume to totally replace your Line6

Jeez, yeah. I gotta do my research, haha

Best SG Pickups?

Sweet, super insightful as always. I think I might shoot for these just because they seem an interesting and slightly cheaper alternative to tracking down T-Tops and tbh the Gibson '57s i've heard lack sharpness. maybe it's the amp EQ or my ear, but it wasn't nearly as aggro as I wanted it to be

what's a good DAW for beat-making?

Yeah, I mean drum beats. I can produce just fine in Garageband but I'm not liking the system of laying down drums

hmm ok

Dimarzio's interesting. I don't know much about their PAFs though. Bare Knuckles are... not cheap lol, dunno if I can afford

Time for a new (small but giggable) amp.

I really like the booze Jr but maybe that's just me. Crank the volume, control it with the master, and let that fucker sing.... mmmm!

Time for a new (small but giggable) amp.

Yup. it's looking up for the Jet City, and I'm going to look at some other Marshall alternatives. Mayeb I'll try a Fender just for contrast to remind my ear what I'm doing

I wouldn't even use a channel-switch on a Marshall, tbh.

Yeah they don't seem too reliable and that's unfortunate. Jet City it is then :P

I tried it. I didn't hate the high gain, and it didn't seem terrible. Everyone I know seems to love it, so that's weird, but I think the Jet City is my bet.

I'll keep it in mind. :P It all comes down to what I decide to buy. We'll see

Yeah I think that's m plan. it would run through a Peavy cab I found with "Blue Marvel" speakers. Know anything?

Time for a new (small but giggable) amp.

these are Joyo's first amps so I would be going off their rep as a pedal company. and in further inspection, I found a JCA20H for cheaper that looks pretty sick

yeah, I probably wouldn't be using the high-gain channel, though it's good to have. My thought is just to run a light-medium overdrive into an amp with some light Marshall crunch. The JCAC22 is a good amp for that 'cuz it's cheap, loud, and fits the sound.

EDIT: Joyo Jackman is a new-ish tube amp. 20 watt clone of the JCM, YouTube demos sound okay if a little harsh, but that can be remedied. If the dirt sounds liek shit (and it might) then I've got pedals to get me most of the way.

Cool, yeah. i was thinking about that Music Man but I listened to a few demos and wasn't exactly sure that it was what I was looking for. The Jet City sounds super good for a modern-ish gain sound while still retaining Marshally characteristics. i'm no name snob, and I am not a huge fan of the Origin on first listen, but I'd love to go play one just to try out.

Any idea how the JCAC22 handles pedals?

I have, and that's another possible opton. Was hoping to find a 2x12 but the DSL is certainly the fallback for reliable amplification.

Trying for a 20-40 watt amp under $350, preferably Marshall-y. Prefer combos but I've been considering a Jet City head and a used Panama cab I found, coming in at just over $500. Any other good options appreciated!

Chicago Stompworks

I'm not suggesting that... I'd buy the shit out of it :P if my wallet could handle it. When you finish it, I'd love to hear a demo.

Ah, what I meant is ditching my transistor Orange practice amp and getting a real hybrid MM. I'm not gonna touch that baby. it's one of my favorite amps of all time and a total pedal machine. Excited to get some really varied tones.

And you know I'd rep an amp called the Old Dirty Bastard, right?

Chicago Stompworks

The Klon I'm looking at has a bass knob to add in some bass again, resolving some of the bass cut issues. I'm also planning an upgrade to one of those hybrid Music Man amps, I found a nice one that i might spring for.

I had a friend who used a couple different Klones in front of an old Fender Frontman 212r. It sounded pretty okay, and that's a loud 100 watt solid state amp... so I'm optimistic but not certain. Worst comes to worst can sell it.

The Celestial is hand-wired, and as far as I can tell the components are similar to the Klon itself, but just that little bit different.

It's working. I am an educated musician :P

If we're gonna go off on a tangent for this thread, I'd like to ask an opinion of you on the topic of drive. How do you feel about Klones, and what's your favorite? I have received word that my family gifted me a Celestial Effects Sagittarius for Christmas, a Klone/boost pedal.

To be honest, I'm not even worried about clipping the signal, that'd sound kind of cool. But I'll certainly look

Quick soldering question

So just to be sure I'm understanding, maybe I should look for a mixer with a consumer -10dB mode? If so, then I think I should be okay
