Simply a Ring Modulator and Fuzz Octave. More than that - it's a face melting optical synth engine of pinkness.

It is sweet germanium fuzz octave and with a stomp gives you what you could never have thought to ask for - and it's got an optical jack that let's you treat it like a pink box of theremin essence. It sweetens the deal while in a moment of anger gives you a demon and lets you gliss it up to higher ground or down to the bottom tectonic rubbing grind. It's a thing unto itself and wears nail polish pink - and only the Ring Stinger can make it look so good and sound so good and hurt so bad.

It's a legend! The first Lovetone pedal I had. I used it on my pedal bard on Guitar and bass and in the studio on everything from drums to keys, vocals and saxamaphone. Incredible pedal and a tweaker's dream.

Big Cheese Fuzz Box

The one that got away. This was the best fuzz pedal I have ever owned. And I'm gonna get it back. Somehow, some way and then that selector switch goes on the wedge of swiss and may guitar will break apart in the most incredible way! This is a pedal that not only gives you a pallet of 60 and 70's best fuzzies, but it brings something quite new to the table - even if it was designed in the much maligned 90s. Listen, timeless is timeless so open up a bottle of wine and gently sink into it - because the Big Cheese tastes sooooo good! (what that too cheesey?)

The Devil wears Tweed.

When my hot wife gave me this amp I knew I had found my match! The amp is incredibly, devilishly loud, and even though I may be the only guitar player left who thinks that's what rock guitar amps are supposed to be, the Deville, or as I like to call it, 'The Devil', is a true platform of guitar tone. The louder I crank it the better it sounds - making the gods of rock weep, remember what has been lost!

My pedal board into this Fender 4x10 is the sound I've always been looking for.

True High Voltage Tube Delay

Offering up to one second of pure warm delay, The Relay Jr. has a True High Voltage switching power supply providing 300 volts to a genuine tube audio stage. Ultra-bright LEDS give the highest visibility on stage.

This tube delay is remarkably smooth with that degradation-over-time tape sound I love. Don't have 3k for a Binson? Try this one. It's one of those pedals that makes your sound even better even when it's off!

Beautiful 60's sounding Trem.

The Creme... uses a unique circuit topology which uses a combination of IC’s, combined with FET’s to emulate the vintage Tremolo tones of the 60’s Brown face Fender amps. It is designed for lowest noise and the warmest most neutral and tube like tones possible.

Sounds atmos-tastic running into a really great delay.

Great Fuzz.

I would usually have a Lovetone Big Cheese in this spot on my pedal board but I lost mine along the way. Until I get it back I have tried a few very nice fuzzies. This one reacts the best to my style of playing and expression. It can get way out of hand on the higher Vig setting which sound awesome with the Gr300 - real ear burning noise that breaks up at the end so terrifically - the root of that word being 'terror'. With a lower guitar volume it sings of things from a more hazed out time when a great band and projections of liquid light where enough to change the world.

It's my favourite OD pedal. It's subtlety and dynamic response is awe-inspiring.

The Brown Source is love in a pedal.

When I first talked to Vlad over at Henley-on-Thames (Lovetone) in England back in '98, he told me a few clients were returning the Brown Source because they thought it didn't work. How awesome is that?

I immediately bought one because if people didn't understand the pedal, I had to have it! And it is hands down my favourite OD.

What does it do?

It embiggins my playing (to use a 90's expression). It is subtle, no question but the level and power of contained sonic spirituality that this OD circuit infuses into each note of my raw emotional expression is not subtle at all. It's just like falling in love, while fireworks explode overhead and a Cream-era Clapton throws a brick of pure white y*yo your way with a knowing wink.

That fact is, you don't own this pedal - you partner with it.

The cream of the wahs!

Back in the day I heard that Prince used a Colorsound Wah. I got one to replace my Maestro Boomerang II and loved it immediately. It's a cream pedal - like that stain on the chair. Mine was built in January 1973.

1990 Gibson Flying V

It's a Gibson Flying V.. I call it the Devil's Violin. I got it for three reasons: 1. The Sound. 2. The fretboard. It's a wide, glide and buttery ride (the first use of "buttery" to describe a fretboard). 3. The way it hangs on me when I play live, like perfectly balanced love or a dependant or something. The best live guitar I've played.

Ibanez made these.

This was the first guitar I bought with my own money back in 84. Mine's red and has P-Funk's signatures all over it when I met them when we both played 1st Ave in Min on tour. It's a solid guitar, sounds like a Strat - but the hardest neck I've ever played on. I used to have a '76 Fender with the electro-guts of a GR505 in it. It was a nicer guitar but not by much (and was worthless as a strat because someone had chopped it up to fit the electro-thingys in it) - But with the 505 - it's just that fret board which feels like playing an iron bar.

The Moog of guitar synths. It's a legend.

The concept of making music with mains voltage is what electric guitar is all about - this is a real vco synth - the sound of electricity tearing the vail to Zone 5 - where the shit happens! The GR300 sings a siren song - it hits the soul in the same way a great tube amp at that magic break-apart volume does. It has no presets. It has no software up dates - no, it has pitch drift. Of my Roland Gr300, I can only and also say this - of all the guitar synths I've ever encountered on my tours, this one is the most... Human.
