Red knob fender "the twin" any good?
the red knob isn't the evil twin, that's the "twin amp" .... at least around THESE parts its not the evil twin...
Good catch. The red knob predecessor, The Twin, shares the nickname of the ‘94 Twin Amp, hence my confusion.

Another thing I've been wondering about: Is there any effect that can make a Guitar or Bass sound like a classical stringed instrument like a Violin or Cello?
The first thing that comes to mind is the aptly-named EBow. The current version is the EBow Plus, which will set you back $99.95 new. TC Electronic made their own version called the Aeon which costs about $69.
You can also use volume envelopes to fade in the attack and simulate a bowed sound. That’s fairly easy to do in any DAW. Options in stompbox form are the Mooer Slow Engine (a Boss SG-1 Slow Gear clone) and the Electro-Harmonix Attack Decay reissue. You can also do this manually with any volume pedal.
Fuzz is another alternative. At the 3:52 mark of the old Maestro FZ-1 Fuzz-Tone demo, the guitarist plays a hollowbody through the fuzz to fake a cello sound.

Is it worth buying an expensive guitar?
this.... and in this case they don't always make them like they used to, no siree... a vintage fender blackface could possibly still eb running with no service since64.... no joke, the quality of components is way down these days, even boutique amps suffer from it. I don't mean audio quality, I eman longevity. TOlerances are pup, parts are consistent, but lifespan is down.
What about solid state amps?

Red knob fender "the twin" any good?
It was good enough for Waylon Jennings. Such an intriguingly cool nickname, too: the "Evil Twin".

This would be useful for recovering old sources, for review or re-inclusion.
Maybe have a Vanadisim Queue similar to the Duplicate Item Queue where users flag a vandal's submission and an admin fixes it?
Another good idea!
I saw that mess last night. Why not just ban the user outright when it's that malicious and egregious?
Oh man, that guy! What does “stop leaking” even mean? I let the mods know about him last night and Michael cleaned it up.

Maybe try the JHS: Legends of Fuzz series. All are $180, and the Bender, Crimson, and Smiley are all based on Fuzz pedals from that era ('72 Univox Super-Fuzz, '73 MKIII Tonebender, '69 Silicon Arbiter Fuzz)
While they are all great clones, I wouldn’t call $180 a pedal cheap, haha.
the big muff isn't really a fuzz, it an early diode clipping distortion like the dan armstrong blue clipper, jordan bosstone etc
One could call it “fuzzstortion” ¯_(ツ)_/¯

Can't go wrong with an Electro-Harmonix fuzz, especially the Big Muff Pi. The company even reissued the original versions so you can choose which flavor of distortion you want. TC Electronic also has some good vintage-styled fuzzes for cheap.

tb-303 clones, why I stopped grumbling and bought Uli's TD3 even though I don't need it

Is it worth buying an expensive guitar?
I don't know much about how a Gibson feels, but I can say that expensive doesn't always mean good. You may find the real thing to be lackluster. Comfort-wise, it is important to note that Gibsons tend to be heavier that Strats.

It's a black Ampeg Dan Armstrong. That's a great performance!

Why not just duplicate the guitar categories? That would be an efficient sorter. Anything with more than five strings can go in extended range.

There is the same problem for Run-DMC, Public Enemy and De La Soul. A Tribe Called Quest does have a band format, but a separate artist page still exists.

Are "high gain" 12ax7 preamp tubes worth it?
It seems there are no "high gain" or "standard gain" 12AX7s. Just a different readiness to overdrive: https://www.thegearpage.net/board/index.php?threads/hi-gain-12ax7.2037070/

It's not that we didn't test other categories - but we found there is something magical and timeless that happens in the music gear world. Since the love of music (and how it's made) is this thing that transcends boundaries and unites us all, both the gear and the pro have sort of this timeless aspect to them - and that magic is part of what makes Equipboard work so well.
Amen! Alton Brown's knife still sounds pretty cool, though.

I recently found some old hats from Equipboard's not-just-music days here and here (I also encountered this PewDiePie "style" page). Then I was reminded of this video and it begs this question: why did Equipboard move away from universal gear and become strictly music-oriented?

What’s the best way to show your band mates your songs?
Perhaps he needs it to be explained differently? How does he usually go about learning a song?

Help with Hiss from a reverb pedal?
No problem. If I were you (and you seem to like the Slö), I would try to find a workaround. I mean, it seems this FV-1 chip is all the rage.

Help with Hiss from a reverb pedal?
Are you sure? That sounds expensive. Have you reached out to Walrus Audio? They might be able to diagnose the problem.

Each one has its place. It really boils down to what suits you best. Keep in mind that some people like certain digital pedals because they sound like analog units.
I remember working on a record where we were using Drexel's studio A and B right when protools HD came out and the wholeplace had been upgraded to 192k and this student was like "so what do you guys think of 'THE digital'?"
that is all
This made me chuckle.

This is actually the kind of question I want to see more of. I'd love to hear what you plan to use this for.
A quick google search for "frog" pedals offers the Shoe Pedals Frog, an octave fuzz that gets its name for sounding ribbity sometimes, but you're probably wanting a pedal that sounds more consistently like a frog.
With a fuzz before it, the Electro-Harmonix Blurst can do some pretty croaky/ribbity filter sweeps on the rising sawtooth mode; check out the demo at 3:03. It also has an expression input for manual control. You can adjust the resonance and frequency range for the best croak.
Alternatively, there seems to be a frog-branded auto wah by Made By Mystery called the Amphibian, since the sound can come across as bubbly/watery at times with its step sequencer.
Now I wonder what the Frog and the Blurst would sound like together...
