Dennis DeYoung uses ARP Pro Soloist Dennis DeYoung uses ARP Pro Soloist

Dennis often used an ARP Pro Soloist for lead lines in Styx right through Grand Illusion, the first album he also used his new Oberheim Four Voice on too. I actually had him sign mine at one of his solo shows in the past decade.

The only video/film I've been able to find of him playing one was on the song "Sweet Madame Blue" of his show with Styx 4/2/76 Winterland Ballroom San Francisco. Unfortunately there was a bad audio cable or problem with his keyboard in the middle of the performance, and half way through he had to switch to his Hammond. I'd love to find other footage of his using his Pro Soloist which he frequently used until mostly switching to the Oberheim.

For a time in the 70s, the Pro Soloist was one of the main lead instruments in the band Genesis, Styx & Kansas. Perhaps by no accident, 3 of my favorites.
