AX7221 Review: For heavy metal, this guitar gives a lovely growling sound. | Ibanez | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

The Ibanez AX7221 7-String is a solid entry-level guitar that offers a warm clean tone and a growling rhythm sound for metal enthusiasts. However, it's not ideal for shredders due to its thick neck and weight distribution issues. While its build quality is commendable, the guitar suffers from a poorly balanced neck and requires some maintenance out of the box. Lacking a tremolo, it's better suited to rhythm players rather than lead guitarists. The AX7221 might not be worth the full new price, but it could be a good buy secondhand. Overall, the review suggests it's a decent guitar with some limitations, making it a neutral choice for musicians looking for a budget 7-string option.

AX7221 Review: Even though it's a cheaper guitar, it never makes me feel... | Ibanez | Electric Guitars | Reviews @ Ultimate-Guitar.Com

ultimate-guitar.com

Ibanez AX7221 is a solid budget 7-string that's ready to rock. Its dual humbuckers deliver surprisingly clean and dynamic tones, suitable for various genres beyond its hard rock roots. Sturdily built, it's road-ready with impressive durability. Minor gripes include a slipping tuning peg and neck heaviness, but these are easily overlooked given its price point. While lacking a whammy bar and upper fret access, its playability and tonal versatility make it a great entry-level choice for those seeking quality without breaking the bank. Overall, an 8/10 for a budget-friendly, reliable axe.

Great 7 string.

Pickups sucked, but after replacing with Seymour Duncan Invader and Jazz, was clear and crunchy. Really suited the tone of the Mahogany body

Low end but gets what it needs done.

I was given this guitar on a shady and fluke deal, but The guitar itself isnt a bad guitar! Eye of the beholder if you will. It has the standard Ibanez feel but the play ability of a 7 string
