Hello all, I think the Fender Special Run instruments need to be addressed. Fender makes a lot of production model guitars that come in a lot of finishes, which is totally understandable why we don't post instruments with their finishes in the title. That would be redundant. However, the Fender Special Run (or FSR for short) instruments often vary from their standard production brothers and sisters. Though some guitars only vary in color from the regular production models, some instruments vary in construction, components, etc. For example, there is a Fender Special Run Telecaster with a Butterscotch finish, which is superficial don't get me wrong, but also has a reversed control plate similar to that found on the Fender Blacktop Series telecasters AND features a 3 barrel bridge with brass saddles. Find me another MIM instrument with those specs! These instruments are built to the specification of specific retailers and dealers, so I believe that it is important to DOCUMENT these instruments to better help musicians identify exactly what gear they are looking at. In my conversation with Narcist, on a guitar used by the guitar player of 5 Seconds of Summer, the guitar has been identified as four different models. In my scrounging of the internet, I was only able to find ONE source that correctly matches the instrument in question. This goes to show how important it is to identify these limited edition instruments as their own models rather than just a variation of regular production models.
Even take a look for yourselves. Google Fender Special Run Telecaster HH. You will find almost multiple models with varying pickups, finishes etc all sharing a common, vague name.
By identifying the Special Run instruments under one large category is just like submitting a "Fender American Elite Precision" as a "Fender Precision Bass". It just doesn't make sense! Thanks for listening! Here is my source, http://www2.fender.com/support/articles/fender-special-run-fsr-products/

Quick question: Does this count as a source? I'm really strict about forums, but this may be an exception. Not sure, though.

Another thing, could a mod please delete this sumbission?

Deleted.

And yes, I believe that counts, as that's rjd2 himself answering in that forum. It's generally agreed upon in that forum that it's him. If you make any subs from that, try to take screenshots and upload them to Imgur so the source lives forever and embeds nicely on EB, as opposed to just a forum link :)

Double Fix

We need to fix the name of this page from Terr*y*berry to Terr*e*berry

Then, we need to murder this page

But- but he doesn't even make any music!!

I was totally that guy writing TV music in my 20s, but I don't know if I woulda called myself a pro in the pro page sense.... I didn't quite my day job running the recording studio! If I relied on TV royalties for rent I woulda been evicted.

So... I guess he'll be the next metal parody singer... like Yankovic, eh?

Delete this please: http://equipboard.com/pros/julien-baker/fender-mexican-telecaster

"Cal Freeman" was a dummy/test artist page I made. It is actually me with but i'm not a recording artist. I though I would be able to remove the page afterwards. Can someone please remove it? It reflects badly on me and the site itself. THANKS

Perhaps, but the fact that you took the time to make a post to rectify your mistake says a lot about your character. Glad to have another member as well!

yeah, you are not the 1st new member to make a test page only to find he can't delete the fictitious artist, but you ARE the 1st to be a standup guy and post to the forum about it.

Thanks!

Either Michael or Gchiaren, could either of you find out what the previous source was? I'm quite sure my previous source was accurate, and i'm extremely meticulous when it comes to my submissions, so this worries me.

EDIT: NEVERMIND, GUYS

Found the image via cache. Just for myself (in case this guy decides to just screw up a perfectly good submission):

Notes: In this article by Home Brew Audio, the authour explains the origins of the instrument that Chris used to perform the song Madness on Saturday Night Live. While he has used the original on the "Madness" music video, the one he uses live is a double-neck version with a Status Graphite S2-Classic bass on the bottom. The article explains in detail the purpose of the instrument in the song.
