A bad workman always blames his tools? That old proverb means very little when playing this tele.
I have had the same Casino since 1996. Like many, I purchased it because of its connection to the Beatles, wanting that late era sound. This is probably the best playing guitar I have ever owned. With its thin neck and poor sustain, I consider it a rhythm playing guitar. I am not saying to skip playing solo with it. A compression/sustain pedal should be sold with these, to help round them out. Hopefully this will not matter to newer made Casinos, but those from the 90's weren't exactly well crafted. The "E" emblem on the pickguard well off just after a year and the electronics have needed work a few times. Also, keep a can-of-air around – this guitar gets a cold quite often.
...that so badly wants to be a Fender. I had interest in this guitar because it reminded me of Fender Mustangs. It is far from it. Hands down – It's a cheap guitar. Every part of it feels cheap and low quality. But, that's the odd magic of Danelectro. There is a nice level of charm with this guitar that keeps me going back to pick it up. Even though its not a nice guitar, its a fun and easy guitar to play. In fact, its the only electric that I keep out beside my office desk. I plug it into Garageband to play with different sounds, so it has definitely found its purpose. I recommend anyone to have a Danelectro to keep out and jam on.
This was the guitar I learned how to play on. I have never known anyone to have one as well, nor have seen them for sale anywhere. Apparently, not many where made, making it a rare – but not sought out – guitar. This guitar is extremely well made and sounds amazing. It is a parlor size guitar, so it is like a classical style body and neck, but with steel strings and built like a normal steel string guitar. The wide neck allows for your fingers to get in there and finger pick folk or blues notes with ease. The downside to the wide is that barre chords are tricky, even for my song fingers.
I had plans to purchase one of Cordoba's higher end classical guitars. When I found this guitar used and at a very low price, I couldn't resist. Honestly, I am shocked at how low the retail price is for this guitar. It is very well made and sounds amazing. I am sure if it was made with higher quality wood, pearl inlays and made in a more prestigious location, it would easily be top of the line. The more I think about it, this guitar deserves more attention and is probably one of the best classical guitrs I have every played.
This is a great ukulele. The acacia body gives it a similar sound and feel as a koa body does, at a fraction of the price. This uke sounds amazing when played, but forget hooking it up to an amp. The pickup is cheap and almost inaudible. Most of Cordob's acoustic/electric instruments use Fishman pickups, but this uses an unknown company – maybe their own – and its pretty weak. Cordoba has since upgraded this ukulele to the 25T-CE, so I imagine the electronics have received an update. Played acoustically, it's worth every penny and the best sounding non-koa uke I've heard.
This was the first Ukulele that I picked up. For the money, its a great ukulele and ideal for anyone new to the instrument. It sounds great and plays very well. I always recommend it to friends who have interest in playing the uke.
This is the perfect distortion pedal. It doesn't take away from the the tone of the amp – only adds to it.
I have used both this and the MXR Phase 90 and I think this is a much better pedal.
This is a must pedal for the Fender Princeton Reverb Reissue – or any tube amp that doesn't have an dirty channel. The sound is natural and will not piss off your neighbors. The only downside so far is that it doesn't seem to place nice with other OD or distortion pedals. The MXR Distortion+ seems balance it out the best.
I really wanted to love this pedal and I anticipated to use it all the time. It works 100% as I expected and sounds perfect. However, I rarely ever use it. The sound can be very overwhelming. No wonder Billy Corgan changed his sound over time.
If I was go back in time and tell the 16 year old me what pedal to buy, this one would be it. It has the perfect range of distortion for most any style of rock. With it's price, the Rat is the perfect first pedal. However, the Rat's weakness is its biggest strength. There is not distinct or trademark sound to the Rat. It has an generic distortion sound – but that helps it blend better with other pedals. The high end is not overly bright, like MXR's Distortion plus...and the fuzz is not over the top, like the Big Muff. Infact, I would barely consider this a fuzz pedal. Long story short, this is the most well rounded pedal you can add to your board. I recommend it to anyone who only wants one distortion pedal.
This pedal is a must have for any solo work. Hell, if you have an archtop hollow body, you will need it. It has great sustain but I wish it didn't have as much an attack. I wish it didn't add as much extra distortion as it does, but I keep it anyway.
I have had this amp since 1996 and it still sounds as good as it did when I got it. That's not saying much, considering its a small, solid-state practice amp. Its a great entry level amp and it can get very loud when you crank it up. The amp has a very dry, almost synthetic sound. If you have the money, invest in a tube amp, but if you don't really care about warm rich tones – get it.
I have had this amp for almost two years and have use it maybe three times. I bought it for my Cordoba 25T-CE, hoping that would bring the life out of that ukulele. That was a complete bust, because they mic in the ukulele is horrible. But this review isn't about the ukulele, its about this amp! Just for the fun of it, I plugged my Epiphone Casino in this amp and I was really impressed with the sound. That is NOT an acoustic instrument, but it was fun to try out on this small amp. I have played actual acoustic guitars on this amp and they sound great. I hate the chorus on this amp. Chorus pedals sound so much better. I think the amp would have been better off if chorus wasn't included – but that doesn't take away from the rest of its awesomeness. For a 15-watt acoustic amp – that's smaller than a turntable – it's worth every penny.
