Rex and the Bass: Cordoba 25 TK-CE Ukulele Review

rexbass.com

Cordoba's 25TK-CE ukulele impresses with its solid koa construction and appealing price point. Its sweet, balanced tone and impressive volume make it a delight to play, though its gold-plated tuners could hold better. Handmade in Portugal, it boasts excellent workmanship and a classy finish. The electronics package enhances its gig-ready appeal. At $379.99, this uke offers exceptional value.

Almost perfect ukulele

This is a great ukulele. The acacia body gives it a similar sound and feel as a koa body does, at a fraction of the price.

This uke sounds amazing when played, but forget hooking it up to an amp. The pickup is cheap and almost inaudible. Most of Cordob's acoustic/electric instruments use Fishman pickups, but this uses an unknown company – maybe their own – and its pretty weak.

Cordoba has since upgraded this ukulele to the 25T-CE, so I imagine the electronics have received an update. Played acoustically, it's worth every penny and the best sounding non-koa uke I've heard.
