useless

for the love of god just buy a gruv gear fretwrap or something. even plain velcro is better.

ghost_java666

awesome

pretty noisy, and powering it is a bit of a pain, but the SOUND!!

ghost_java666

awful

just as bad as the mooer e-lady just with a cheaper housing.

great combo for metal

had these in a jackson pro series king v and i thought they were great. i'm not a big fan of high output neck pickups but i didn't feel the need to switch it. i'd still probably take a distortion/59 set over this if I had to choose but that's just me. I compared these to an EMG 81/60 set in another jackson king V I had and thought that the sets sounded surprisingly similar, the duncans just were more dimensional. I had to sell the guitar with these in it cos I was low on cash and I miss it a lot.

ghost_java666

worse than emgs

probably the flattest most one dimensional pickup i've ever heard. it sounds like an imitation of a good pu but without any of the life in it. like a shitty amp modeler or something. I know that that is a common criticism of active pickups but these are marketed as being so much more dynamic than traditional actives. that "split" mode is a joke also. The weird thing is that i have the 6 string version of these also but they sound ten times better.

ghost_java666

useless

the extreme volume drop that occurs when the pedal is engaged make this useless to me. the flange is loud but the guitar is thin and nearly inaudible underneath.

ghost_java666

i love it

one of my favourite picks for playing fast metal stuff, if not the favourite.

ghost_java666

not as great as they'd have you believe

these picks do make your tone a little brighter by virtue of the material, but they were advertised as being extremely durable and yet I wore the point off of one in a week. No other pick has worn down that quickly for me. I also found these to be very slippery after playing for more than a few minutes but it could be that my fingers are just oily or something. in any case i'm not a fan.

ghost_java666

kinda junk imho

the one I had had really shitty fretwork. it needed a refret to have all the notes actually sound and i was not willing to invest that much money in fixing a chinese ibanez so i sold it. pickups didn't sound good either. I have yet to play the new jackson model, but I can't imagine it being worse than this. the jackson has usa duncans in it and is neck-thru at least. probably one of the worst guitars i've owned.

ghost_java666

i miss it

I used to have this guitar but i needed money so i sold it. I've sold a lot of guitars but this is the only one i've regretted selling. duncan pickups, three way toggle, black, ebony, pretty much everything I wanted in a v. its gorgeous too. i mean, just look at it; its metal as f***! only criticism I have is that it could have had locking tuners.

ghost_java666

cheap junk

ernie ball strings are the only strings i've ever broken. like, these are the only strings that I avoid buying whenever possible. the upside is that they're cheap, but thats probably why they don't last.

ghost_java666

great

I think I prefer this over my strandberg actually. no stainless steel goodness but I like this guitar enough that that doesn't bother me too much (gasp!). the one con is that the stock dimarzio PAF pickups are waaaaay too low output for what I'd imagine most seven string players would like. I mean, I just don't know many people that like vintage style pickups in their seven strings. I put dimarzio Ionizer 7s in it and its great now. I'm considering trying out the duncan alpha/omega 7 set in it though.

ghost_java666

awsome

these are in my strat and I'm not taking them out ever. some people don't like the abrasive upper frequencies these have but I love all the extra attack. definitely one of my very favourite pickups for sure.

ghost_java666

brutal

had it for a couple months now and I absolutely love it. the only thing I would change would be to get rid of the dot inlays! but other than that I don't know what more I could ask for in a metal oriented baritone.

ghost_java666

good...but,

should have come with an instruction manual for changing the strings and setting up!!! even if you know what you're doing changing strings is a bit of a pain. also not a fan of the endure neck. I was so on board with the idea of it and thought i'd love it but its just meh. doesn't really feel more comfortable in any way, just weird. definitely a gimmick more than anything. I wish standard necks were an option. pickups are passable i suppose but the fishman moderns do not have a single coil voicing so the "coil split" sound like ass in my opinion. It makes me honestly wonder what it's doing seeing as these pickups do not have traditional coils in them. Definitely doesn't sound like a split in any regard. I'm hoping that if put the fishman abasi pickups in it'll fix the problem because those were actually designed to have a single coil sound. overall not impressed with the sound.

the actual build quality seems really good. the biggest con is the price. it’s not worth anything near the $3100 cad i had to pay for it. other brands make stuff with similar features for 1/3 the price but since strandberg uses so much stupid proprietary hardware they jack up the price.

wouldn’t recommend this unless you absolutely MUST have a headless and even then it’s probably better to get a boden standard. you’ll save money and won’t have the lifeless fishman pickups.

ghost_java666

really didn't like it

didn't realise that this was supposed to sound like a Nu-Metal tone. found it to be super muddy on every setting. but maybe that's what nu metal is supposed to sound like?

ghost_java666

garbage

this was the muddiest most undefined sounding amp I've ever used. shitty cash grab from Zakk wylde.

ghost_java666

favourite wah for metal

Not a zakk fan (like not at all) but I really like this wah pedal. I saw Phil Demmel and Michael Amott ( I think) using this so I thought I'd give it a try. It's been my favourite wah when I need a more cutting wah tone.

ghost_java666

love it

this is currently my favourite flanger pedal. it is pretty great out of the box but what really sets it apart for me is being able to download toneprints of all my favourite flanger sounds like the deluxe electric mistress without any of the issues of old pedals like that.

ghost_java666

Love it

Don't know what I'd do without this thing! Super accurate, easy to see, long battery life, can be recalibrated, and the battery is easy to change.
