Description
Unlock your rhythmic potential with the D16 Group Drumazon, a software marvel that brings the legendary TR909 drum machine into the digital realm. This true emulation captures every sonic detail of the iconic hardware, delivering the same punchy, driving beats that defined an era. Beyond mere replication, Drumazon offers enhanced controls, letting you sculpt each sound with precision and creativity.
The design is intuitive and musician-friendly, featuring a versatile output configuration that lets you route sounds to any of the 11 outputs. Whether you're crafting a tight groove or an expansive soundscape, you can keep your mix clean and tailored to your vision. Each instrument boasts a Mute and Solo function, allowing you to manage your sound palette with ease.

This article on the recording of the "Barking" album describes the band's then-current studio setup. Rick Smith explans, "It’s difficult to name a main drum machine... The sounds come in from [iZotope] iDrum, [FXpansion] Guru, Logic’s Ultrabeat and ESX24 sampler, and Drumazon, which is this TR-909 modeled plug-in from D16 Group. I use all of that, really, with some Addictive Drums, a live drum plug-in."
"Been using the Drumazon and Nepheton a lot in my latest productions and now even use them both Live on stage. They are a great addition to any setup and provide you with loads of great sounding percussion grooves! My real 808 and 909 already have a dust cover ... "
Rob Swire is noted for using the D16 Group Drumazon plugin, as evidenced by a user-uploaded photo on Reddit.
"My favorite plugins are Z3ta+, Sylenth1, Drumazon, Microtronic and the UAD DSP-Card. The only real hardware I use is a Virus TI Snow for those nasty screech sounds. I have a pair of Mackie monitors, but I do my mixing and mastering mostly on my Sennheiser HD800 headphone. That headphone is absolutely my favorite piece of equipment!"
The plugin was seen in one of his video on which he had said he had used it to make a 909 kick.
I was going to ask what plug-ins are you particularly mad about, if you’d care the drop some names…
Well, we did a lot of back-and-forth testing of all the classic drum machine and bassline plug-ins. For us the D16 plug-ins for the 808 and 909 were the best ones out there. But for the 303 bass lines, I wasn’t actually a big fan of the D16s and for that I really liked the Audio Realism. What else? I’m a big fan of – still - the Native Instrument KONTAKT as a sampler - you can do some wonderful things with that, get inside some different samples.
