Critic Reviews

Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 60 DFX Amp

guitarinteractivemagazine.com

The Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 60 DFX amp impresses with its compact design, robust construction, and attractive blue illumination. Its sound quality is commendable, offering rich valve-like tones on both clean and lead channels. The built-in digital effects, including chorus and delay, add versatility, though the single-pot control can be limiting. However, the mirrored control panel, while stylish, is difficult to read in low light, and the labeling of inputs is unconventional. Despite these minor flaws, it provides good value for its price, making it a worthwhile option for those seeking a solid-state combo with appealing aesthetics and sound.

Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 60-DFX review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The Hughes & Kettner Edition Blue 60-DFX is a sturdy, compact solid-state combo amp that impresses with its clean, warm tones, making it a great platform for pedals. While the clean channel delights, the distortion can feel brittle at higher gains, and the shared EQ can be limiting. The built-in effects are usable but lack fine control, especially for delay settings. Despite these drawbacks, the amp's simplicity and touch sensitivity make it a versatile choice for small gigs and home practice, appealing to those who appreciate the unpretentious nature of solid-state amps.

The BBesst!!

This is my second amp and i love it so much! I got this in 2012 and still rock with it! Not so much settings in it and distortion in it not so good but i have replaced amp's own effects with pedals. Also sound quality is pretty good.

Powerful but too dark

Powerful, but not enough treble: it sounds too dark, too 'close'; like you have left the tone of the guitar at 0.
