Mercury played an Ovation 12 String 1658 Custom Legend during "Crazy Little Thing Called Love" in concert from 1979-1982 during "The Crazy Tour" (1979, a joint promotional mini-tour for the named single as well as the UK leg of the 1978-1979 "Jazz Tour"), "The Game Tour" (1980-1981), and "The Hot Space Tour" (1982). Jim Messina is playing an Ovation composite bowl 12 string in this mi-1970's YouTube original promotional video of Crazy Love. Randy Meisner is playing the 12 string that is also seen in the profile photo for him as well in this video. I am not certain of the model, but the Ovation appears to be of that era. Whether these were cameo or more frequent appearances for them playing 12 string guitars, they should both be credited for having a 12 string in their line up of equipment. Always thought Crazy Love was one of the timeless classics for acoustic/acoustic-electric. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m0urDGb2-SUmore
I got mine while on this last guitar safari. I got it very used, it has a hole below the bridge and the only way it is stating in tune is me duct taping the tuners. But as you know (from the Kay hollow body and Stella Harmony 12 String) I like "damaged" guitars because I know that something that loved has to be good, except the Stella Harmony, that really sucked, but remember I am also one very stubborn man and when I like something I like it.
