Best Tonebender I've Ever Played.

I was initially a little unsure as to whether or not to jump on the Boneyard. The price of fuzz pedals in 2022 is going absolutely bananas, and this was no exception. The first day it was released, scalpers had these selling on Reverb for anywhere between $1,600 - $2k. Not a fan. And while limited, those were all later serial numbers into the 200's. They have not sold if you still wish to see them. But my friend Scott Hager who owns Axe & You Shall Recieve urged me that they were in fact amazing. I trust his ears, and he still had stock at the usual retail price. $500 is still a lot for a fuzz pedal, but I felt much safer about that. And I ended up with serial #35, so the Reverb scalpers could suck the big one. This was my first Thorpy pedal. Unboxing it, I could immediately tell the level of care and detail that was taken into the construction of this pedal. Adrian Thorpe is ex-military, and this thing lived up to that standard in spades. You could kill and elk with this thing and it would be fine. The box with the Ammo can aesthetic was completely on-brand. So I knew it would be a good collector's piece if nothing else. But then I plugged it in... This thing has 3 germanium transistors, with the option to switch down to 2 for the Mk 1.5 Tonebender circuit, which is really more Fuzz Faces-ish. Plus the second footswitch to bypass the tone stack altogether for a clarity high end volume boost. Plus the feed control to blend between the 3 transistors... This thing really truly is all the famous Tonebender circuits in one pedal, but with the ability to sculpt your own sound out of it. I've played it through my '63 Brownface Concert, a mid 60's AC-30, and it just KILLS. I've run it on bass as well and you can truly do anything with it. You can do Gary Clark Jr all the way through to spitty Black Keys & White Stripes, later Pink Floyd, with ease... and in the 2 transistor mode, it cleans up exactly the way you'd want to. This Boneyard quickly became an integral part of my rig. I love that I can just keep one pedal on and just use my guitars knobs. I paired it with my Benson Germanium Boost just for one extra level of Germ. dirt and I've been in tone heaven. I cannot recommend this Fuzz enough. It is limited, and right now the scalpers have LUDICROUS prices on them, but if one comes up for a decent price, I would pounce on it if I were you.

The Only Truely "Transparent" Overdrive - Best In The Game. This Pedal Is The Truth.

There is no such thing as a "transparent" overdrive. Overdrive by its definition has colour and character. Now, if you want a pedal that will push your amp a little harder into its sweetspot, without altering that tone, ie the pedal is "transparent", this is the only one. It has a little more gain on tap if you turn the drive knob up past 3 o'clock, meaning you can add just a hair more grit to something like a Fender.. But if you're playing at medium-low volumes and you just need a pedal to make up for what the power amp isn't doing, this is the one. Or at gig volume, with an amp that's in its happy place, this thing can just kick it over the edge in the most inspiring, musical way. Nick Greer cracked the code with this one. It's just perfect. Stacks better than any other OD I've ever had, but I've even loved rocking this as the ONLY OD on my board. That's right. You don't need a Mars shuttle with 12 overdrives. I use this with my Boss GE-7 for when I need to cut through for solos, and that's it. Anything dirtier, get a fuzz. But the clarity and "transparency" in this pedal is second to none. It's no wonder why it's become the modern pedalboard staple that it has. From Nashville country guys to southern rockers to R&B bands. This thing is the one. I play original music a la Ry Cooder, Blake Mills, etc as well as a hired gun playing in cover bands from Soul, R&B, Southern Rock, all the way through to Hardcore, Punk, and even into Metal territory. This pedal does it all.

Preferred Settings + Usage:

For medium - low volume at home, put the drive at 11 or 12 o'clock, and increase the volume to taste. Frequency control at about 2-3 o'clock for Humbucker guitars, 11-12 o'clock for single coils.. At gig volume, leave the drive knob at 12, or maybe back it off to 10-11 o'clock, and increase that volume knob.

Best Amp I Have Ever Played

I recently acquired this 1961 "Brownface" Fender Concert, and it has quickly become my dream amp. Definite desert island, heirloom piece of gear. If you're not familiar, the "Brownface" era amps were a definite transition period for Fender. They were only made from 1959-1963. They came after the Tweed era, and eventually became the Blackface amps we know so well. They were characterized by their brown tolex, wheat grill cloth. They also came with one of the most sought-after, gorgeous effects - the famous Brownface Harmonic Tremolo circuit. Some had Reverb, but the Tremolo amps are where it's at. Sonically, they resemble the earlier Tweed amps in terms of their response and mid range, but with the reverb and tremolo sounds that would later be associated with Blackface amps. Sort of the best of both worlds. They are a rock, country, blues player's dream. The Concert was the larger 40 Watts, 4x10" model. 6L6's and 12AX7's.

they're very much blackface AND tweed, a real stepping stone.... if you ut a brownface next to a blackface it'll sound tweedier and if you put it next to a simiar tweed model it'll sound more scooped and blackface. Benn there :-) Perfect 'split the difference' fenders. So great and the concert/bandmaster platform is tasty. Great acquisition!

Extremely Decent!

I was a little on the fence when I first bought this unit. I wanted to capture the tone from the intro of "Time Spent In Los Angeles" by Dawes, which was famously recorded with an original BOSS VB-2 Vibrato. Unfortunately, the original units go for around $550 USD now and climbing, and the Waza Craft versions are also in the $350 neighborhood. I couldn't justify the cost to recreate one song. I saw Josh Scott (JHS Pedals)' video about the Behringer range. And he was most excited about this particular pedal. And he SWORE they were the EXACT same pedal. So with his recommendation, at $40 I couldn't say no. It's not 100% the same, but it's 99% of the way there. The casing is plastic, which worries me long term, but it's solid for now and at that price can always be replaced down the line. Definitely worth a look.

Very Versatile Fuzz

The Super Sic Tone is intended to be able to give you tones from the 3 big vintage fuzz units. A Fuzz Face, A Tone Bender, and a Big Muff. Each mode is switchable via the 3-way switch, with Volume and Attack Controls. It has been useful on a few different gigs trying to cover lots of different sounds, but I find it limited if you're trying to get "the best" version of any one of those fuzz sounds. It sort of sits in its own world, but it didn't jive with me personally as"MY Fuzz tone." Definitely fun to mess around with, though.

Better Than Any Comparable Gibson.

My Burny is one of the greatest guitars I've ever played, bar none. I have a late 70's '61 Reissue from the desirable Matsumoku factory, and man.. I've compared it with every guitar I can get my hands on.. Better than any modern Epiphone, Edwards by ESP, Gibson Memphis... better than any Gibson Custom Shop Reissue I've played... it murders them all. Allman Brothers for days. HIGHLY recommend these guitars if you can get one in decent shape for a good price.

Great Small Amps

Great little amp for small club gigs. Great pedal platform amps. Easy to modify, if you're into that. And with a WGS "Reaper" speaker for like 60 bucks, these little guys RIP.

4/5 ! Great Cab!

Having played the YBX-212 Cab, and owning the vintage 70's one that's it's modelled on, I can honestly say that they knocked it out of the park with this cab. The new one comes with Vintage 30's, which is why I gave it a 4/5. Not because Vintage 30's are bad - quite the contrary - but because they're just not my favourite. My 70's one is loaded with an old 12" Celestion Greenback, and a Weber CV-123 (Cerwin Vega copy). I personally like this combo of speakers waaaaaay more. It's a much more 70's sound to me - think Duane Allman, he used the same combo. But it's a great cab, stock or otherwise. Highly recommend!

Love this thing

The Seagull Performer CW Mini-Jumbo Flame Maple QIT, as with all Performer models, features beautiful Flame Maple back & sides, a Select Pressure Tested solid spruce top, Custom Polished High-Gloss finish, and onboard electronics with built-in tuner. The Mini-Jumbo provides an excellent full-range of tone including a lively mid-range due to the combination of a larger lower bout, a more narrow waist and slightly thinner body depth. The Quantum IT electronics on the Seagull Performer series guitars include a built-in tuner and are a standard feature on these models. This combined with a cutaway and Seagull embroidered gig-bag makes for a great package for the gigging musician.

Mine is probably one of the greatest new acoustic instruments I have ever played! Highly recommend to anyone who is looking for an extremely high quality, gorgeous instrument, at a very decent price!

I almost bought one of these, what a great, spanky sound

mattcampbellmusic

Yea jimmarchi1 ! They really are great. Mine has this really cool anomaly about it, where it has this one spot in the body that sounds like a water drip in a cave reverb sound almost. Everybody who has played it has commented on it, and it's a joy to hear and to play!

Love This Thing!

I love this attenuator! The Dr. Z Brake Lite SA (Stand Alone) Attenuator is a fairly basic design, with just one knob numbered 1-4, selecting the level of attenuation. I played my 50 watt 70's Garnet Head through it on full, and number 4 made it quite manageable! A useful tool if you want the tone of a cranked amp, but you play small clubs or your bedroom.

My Main DAW! I love this thing!

My Main DAW! I love this thing! Logic is my main DAW for writing, pre-production, etc. In my opinion it is the greatest DAW out there for maintaining the creative workflow. I use it all the time to hash out ideas, quickly bust out stems, all sorts of things!

Amazing Tube Screamer-style Pedal!

The Wampler Clarksdale is honestly one of my favourite drive/boost pedals of all time! It has the same incredible tone as the famed TS-808 Tube Screamer, but with the added flexibility of the added Lift/Smooth Switch, and the 3-band EQ. On Smooth, with a little gain and a little mids, and a strat, you're in 100% Stevie Ray Vaughan territory! But with the 3-Band EQ, you can switch to a Les Paul for that next song in the set, and with a quick knob turn, it sounds killer with some Paul! If you're the kind of person that doesn't want distortion, just a little extra push on the front end, the Clarksdale makes a great boost as well! 150% worth the money, highly recommended!

For Solid State, It's Incredible!

This amp is a funny thing. It's a solid state amp, not tube - the picture is wrong btw, I couldn't find one of the 20hd. But yet, it behaves more like a tube amp. It gains some headroom as you turn it up, like an old Marshall would. Is it the greatest simulation of a tube amp ever? No, the BIAS or Kemper or something like that would do that a lot better, but for the price, these things are rippers!

Great Amp!

15 watts, single channel, affordable, and sounds AMAZING! Watch the Guitarist demo of it on YouTube. This amp is the answer to so many problems. Could not be more thrilled with this piece of sexiness from Victory Amplification in the UK

Great Buy!

For the money, you cannot go wrong with Fender's Standard series guitars. They are US Parts, Mexican made, but then inspected in the US. So you essentially get an American Standard at half the price! And the cool touch about the Plus Top series is that you get a BEAUTIFUL quilted maple top added. They come in SSS or HSS configurations, and two finishes: Aged Cherry Burst (Maple Fretboard - The one I have) and Tobacco Burst (Rosewood Fretboard). They have an ever-so-slightly chunkier neck than the normal American Standard which I LOVE with my big hands, and it also adds some great sustain. You cannot go wrong with this guitar!!!
