7 Skies
7 Skies' Keyboards and Synthesizers
"Now we go to this other little guy... is the Moog Minitaur. And what the Moog Minitaur does is ONE sound. Then you can modulate and blah blah blah and it becomes like... five? But it does like really few sounds[...] it's been thought to be some kind of a bass machine... and, yeah, that's what it's for. It's got two oscillators, and each oscillators has two waveform, which is saw and square..."
"What's REALLY expensive is that other guy over there, which I don't even really use, um, that thing is a Korg MS-20, and it's not the MS-20 Mikro or Micro that Korg released last year, which is the same thing but with MIDI mapping and all that stuff. No, that thing is from 1978, so it's older than me by like seven years. It's a great, great machine, 100% analog sound, it doesn't even have MIDI[...] what it does is, there's this system control called CV, and what it does is basically it translates the MIDI signal into actual electricity and if you patch it right you can actually play the synthesizer..."
As the camera fades in on 7 Skies' studio, one can see the JP-8000 on the bottom-left of the shot. At 16:58 in particular, he says of his JP-8000 and Juno, "these are like, holy grail of synthesis of electronic music, um... each synth here has, y'know, shaped some kind of genre in EDM. We have this blue one here, which is the JP-8000, and the JP-8000 became famous in the... 98 or early 2000. And it was, y'know, it had this thing, this waveform, which was called supersaw... [which] shaped trance music. So, yeah, basically, all the early trance from like 2000s... those were done thanks to that synthesizer. It had that really rich and big saw sound, really detuned saw sound. Still pretty good, I still use it."
"Then, what we have...? We have the Access Virus TI, this is the Snow version. I kind of hate and love this synthesizer... because it's amazing. There's nothing that sounds like it. Literally. Like... NOTHING. Uh, but at the same time, this little [redacted] here... is always out of synch, there's always problems, sometimes it just does what it wants[...] it's so worth it. 'Cause the sound that comes out of it, it's so good."
In this picture of 7skies studio you can see a Nord Lead rack synthesizer
In a photo shared on 7 Skies' Facebook page, the Clavia Nord Rack 2 synthesizer is prominently visible, highlighting its use in his setup.
In the "7 Skies Studio Tour" video on YouTube, 7 Skies is shown using the Roland Alpha Juno-2 synthesizer.
