Great sounding analog polysynth
Very underrated - much similar to Juno 106. Programming is simple but editing is cumbersome. Highly recommendable if you´re looking for a cheap analog 80s polysynth.

Great analog poly
Very underrated synth from the 80's. It's a great cheaper alternative to the insane prices for Juno 106 and 60's.

Martin L. Gore, of Depeche Mode, owned a Roland Alpha Juno-2 synthesizer, which was sold for charity on Reverb.com in 2019.
"This is the Alpha 2 - really nice. For instance, what I really love about it is the possibility of making chord sounds. To get like a 90s kind of flavor you go on like an organ and that makes it even nicer. We actually did the track Avalanche with Erol Alkan and Jarvis Cocker with this one. I bought it in Japan I think after I heard one of those bass sounds that I thought I knew from a Timbaland record. The brass sounds are really nice - super warm. And yeah, the chord function is really nice... You can trigger a chord with a single key, so we did basically the entire track on this. It’s totally different to other Junos.”
In the booklet for Fatboy Slim's "You've Come a Long Way, Baby," the Roland Alpha Juno-2 is mentioned alongside the Juno-106 and TR-909, indicating its use in the album's production.

This model stands out with its Alpha Dial for parameter editing and its ability to emulate 303 sounds through proper programming. According to The Prodigy .info, this synth was employed in the production of the track "Charly."

"The cheapest in the JUNO series, often mistaken for a homekeyboard but a wolf in sheeps clothing! A Drexciyan secret superweapon and an instant rave classic!
This is the most exotic sounding of all the Juno's, maybe not so warm and wooley but certainly more juicy and creamy and tighter..sporting a superliquid funky portamento, a keyboard with aftertouch and velocity sensitivity and ofcourse, praise the lord, a CHORD MEMORY! For those who don't know what that is: you can hold a chord, press the chord memory button and then you can play that chord with one finger monophonicly with portamento too if you want, instant deepness!!!!!!!"
