On tour, Amy uses a Baldwin baby grand piano with a keyboard insert (a baby grand piano shell with an electronic keyboard instead of an acoustic piano on the inside). She also uses a stand-alone Baldwin keyboard and Shure Microphones. She has used a Kurzweil and a Yamaha digital piano during the Fallen Tour. She's also been using a Roland RD-700sx keyboard since 2009.
Amy Lee incorporates the Sequential Prophet-6 into her performances, utilizing it for softer synth and piano sounds during Evanescence's live show at the Paramount in NY on November 23, as seen in the band's YouTube video.
Amy Lee uses the Audio-Technica ATH-M50 Professional Studio Monitor Headphones to relax while on the tour bus, as shown in an image from the Evanescence Wiki.
About the recording process of "Fallen"
When it came to recording Lee's vocals at NRG, the group tested out three mics: the Telefunken Elam 251E, the AKG C-12 and the regular Neumann U47 tube mic. The U47 won.
“That one seemed to have the classic presence,” reports Fortman, the producer.. “It sounded really good on Amy's voice. I love having that type of luxury, where you can record something from each mic, have everybody sit down and take time to choose.”

For a band like Evanescence, vocals are everything. What’s your specific audio chain to make sure the vocals really have presence?
Lately I’ve been using the AE5400——which has been really helpful. [Amy Lee] has a lot of dynamics, and it captures them nicely.
