And in my eyes Gary Numan definitely influenced everybody with his synth stuff including me - leading to the purchase of a KORG MS10 synth. I am pretty sure Gary Numan - and Devo - got me into weirdness…
For TC Electronic's demonstration of effects, Catching used the Silvertone 1454.
"I love it," raves David. "It's a super-great guitar. It has a lot of weight to it, so it has serious tone. The pickups scream. It stays in tune really well even with the tremolo. Josh has been playing one. Obviously, Troy plays one a lot. I got mine about six months ago. I was recording a band from England called the Duke Spirit, and they wound up using it on almost every song. It was perfect for them, because they have a sort of updated Velvet Underground vibe. I recorded the Giraffes, and they used it too. I've been using it a ton with Earthlings. It definitely has an older-guitar tone. I have some old Silvertone amps that sound amazing with it." - excerpt from Yamaha interview done with Catching.

I love using gear that friends have come up with - I know how great they are, and it translates into the product itself. Aston microphones do sound great, they are tough and industrial. With an Aston you know you can drop a brick on it and just pick it back up knowing it’s gonna be working just fine. But also, I really love the people behind it.
At 0.42 in the rig rundown, Dave talks extensively about his backup Gibson Flying V (possibly 70s). He uses DiMarzio Bridge (as a replacement) and a Cort pickup in the neck.
At 5.09 in this rig rundown Dave talks about his Normandy Alumicaster.

"Currently using every pedal during sessions at Rancho De La Luna, and using Dispatch Master and Hoof Reaper on tour with Eagles of Death Metal, Earthlings? and Mojave Lords."

Dave Catching, guitarist for Eagles of Death Metal, uses the TC Electronic MojoMojo Overdrive, as highlighted in his artist story and gear overview on TC Electronic's website.
"Dave Catching, highly influential producer as well as guitarist with Queens of the Stone Age and Eagles of Death metal has also been impressed with the new pedal. He commented: "The Rotosound Fuzz Pedal has that incredible '60s psychedelic sound I've been searching for. Now it's back and better than ever!!! Get one while you can!!!!"" - excerpt from Ultimate Guitar article.

In this rig rundown, it is mentioned that Catching uses Ernie Ball Power Slinkys.
The lone non-V on the road with Catching is a Normandy Guitars Alumicaster. This aluminum-bodied guitar has a Seymour Duncan SH-5 humbucker in the bridge and a STL-2 Hot Tele single-coil in the neck and is used on songs like “Complexity” and “Now I’m the Fool”.
