Project Studio Ready
It is a cardoid heart shaped pattern mic that is great when you want warm clean vocals to work with. If you have an untreated room it has a hi and low cut off switch and the proximity blocks out lots of noise to begin with. The only set back is finding a good shock mount. I ordered 2 before getting it right. Get a Rycote USM and don't try to cut corners and order any other type even if the seller or vendor says their bargain shockmount is compatible. I had to rig felt taps to keep it from sliding lol. But, the Rycote USM was the soulmate to the Aston Spirit even though the two compaines had a partnership divorce. :)
Preferred Settings + Usage:
0db, Flat and Cardoid for vocals. I'll sometimes use the low cut during the day and loud construction is happening.

Love, love, love....
So I was a little skeptical about ordering this mic at first because at the time Aston Microphones was such a new company.. A friend referred me to them and on a hunch I bought the spirit. This thing is awesome, after playing around with it for a few days, it quickly became one of my immediate "go to" mics. Love this mic and the company, Plus the durability on this thing is impressive. 9/10
Game-Changing
I bought this microphone about a year ago and have been using it on a plethora of instruments through an arsenal of pres and outboard gear. Beautiful and versatile color and frequency response rivaling those $1000 mics, but only for a fraction of the price!
This beauty is listed at $399.

A MICROPHONE... FROM THE UK?!
Wonderfully clean condenser with a clear, flat frequency response. I use it on virtually everything, particularly like it on acoustic guitars, mandolins and douche-bag precussion.

I love using gear that friends have come up with - I know how great they are, and it translates into the product itself. Aston microphones do sound great, they are tough and industrial. With an Aston you know you can drop a brick on it and just pick it back up knowing it’s gonna be working just fine. But also, I really love the people behind it.
In Yeats’ music video “Monëy Twerk,” you can see him using the Aston Spirit at 0:09.
During a Twitch stream, Tennyson's Luke can be seen using the Aston Microphones Spirit condenser microphone.
