Owner Insights

We analyzed real musician discussions from forums and Reddit to find what players love, question, and tweak about EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master.

User experience

  • Owners emphasize the Dispatch Master's simplicity and foolproof operation, ideal for adding space and ambience to clean parts or leads without excessive tinkering.

    Source
  • Some owners report a clipping issue when using boosted clean tones, suggesting that buffered pedals before the Dispatch Master could mitigate this.

    Source
  • It's noted that using the Dispatch Master as an always-on pedal changes playing style positively, making it easier and more enjoyable to play.

    Source
  • Some users wish for a separate switch for delay and reverb, indicating a desire for more control over these effects during live performances.

    Source
  • A high-pitched tone and noise issue was reported by a user, though EarthQuaker Devices is known to offer free repairs for such problems.

    Source

Features and functionality

  • The Dispatch Master is noted for its clean, warm delay and reverb that ranges from tight to spacious, without self-oscillation, making it versatile for regular jams and songwriting.

    Source
  • The pedal is more reverb-focused; the more reverb added, the less defined the delays become, leading to a washed-out sound.

    Source
  • Owners appreciate the pedal's preamp feature, which enhances warmth and saturation, improving the overall sound of the entire pedalboard.

    Source
  • The absence of tap tempo and expression pedal options is a common request among users, as it would enhance on-the-spot adjustments.

    Source

Comparisons

  • Users compare the Dispatch Master to the EQD Disaster Transport Sr., highlighting the latter's ability to deliver digital versions of Memory Man/Toy sounds with more control over modulation.

    Source
  • The Keeley Caverns offers more reverb types and delay options, with separate switches for each, but lacks the full wet mix capability and has a delay limit of 650ms.

    Source

Use cases and applications

  • The pedal is praised for handling modulated reverb and simple, non-oscillating delay, suitable for a wide range of genres but not for extreme sound effects.

Earthquaker Devices Dispatch Master Pedal Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The EarthQuaker Devices Dispatch Master shines as a compact yet powerful pedal, blending reverb and delay into a single, intuitive unit. Praised for its versatility, it seamlessly transitions from subtle room effects to expansive ambient spaces. The pedal's digital processing delivers an organic sound that avoids the typical digital signatures, maintaining a natural decay even at extreme settings. While the delay is noted for its sweet, natural decay, some might find the controls slightly sensitive, requiring practice for precise adjustments. Despite its compact size limiting independent control over reverb and delay, the Dispatch Master’s overall performance, build quality, and versatility offer significant value. Ideal for musicians seeking a robust, space-saving solution, though it might not suit those preferring straightforward, unadulterated signals.

kind of a one trick pony for me but you won't need much else

my only real problem with the v1 i had was the unbearably loud footswitch pop. other than that there's not a single bad sound. the delay is digital but somehow more organic-feeling than some analog delays i've come across. even the reverb's modulation feels analog.

I love this pedal!

This thing is incredible. Firstly, it's super easy it is to use. With new pedals it typically takes me an eternity of fiddling and adjusting to settle on a sound that I'm happy with, but with this, it took 10 minutes. Most importantly though, the sound... it's a reverb and delay in one, and you can get some beautiful tones by blending the two together, making your guitar sound like it is slowly melting into a warm gooey puddle on the floor. Kinda like a space echo sort of sound, but also kinda not really. Just try it and see :)

Versatile reverb/delay pedal for ambient sounds

BEST REVERB/DELAY pedal

This is not a delay, this is not a reverb. This is a reverb/delay pedal. If you just need a delay, i don´t recommend you. This is a better reverb than delay. The delay sounds awesome, but the mix is not enough for me. The combination of Reverb delay create big ambients sounds, very sweet. Great Pedal!! I use it as and echo pedal(reverb)

biscuitbarn

lovely pedal

Instantly fell in love with the sound of this one. Can easily be an all-in-one reverb and delay to put at the end of a signal chain. I use it before my spark->evolution for a reverb-before-dirt sound and also since I already have a supernatural reverb at the end of my chain.

This pedal is perfect for somebody trying to get heavenly ambient tones. The reverb/delay makes this pedal an ambient guitarists dream.
