Donovan's Gear
As clearly shown in the photo, Donovan can be seen playing his sitar.
Donovan's main electric following the tail end of the 60's, was a rare 6-string Rickenbacker.
This is the special model of Gibson J-45 made for Donovan in 1965. This has been Donovan's primary guitar. On his website, Donovan said "I completed my song The Hurdy Gurdy Man and more in India, and with the La Bella silk and steel strings that Joan Baez turned me onto, I recorded it in London on my J45." These words come in the case with the guitar.
Spruce top, mahogany B&S, indian rosewood fingerboard and bridge.
In a YouTube video, Donovan is seen playing a Martin D-35 Acoustic guitar, one of the instruments he used during the 1960s.
Donovan's go-to guitar during the early part of his career.
