Ed Sheeran played the Sheeran by Lowden on his Divide Tour in 2019. The guitar is based on the Lowden WL (Wee Lowden) body size as originally designed for Ed Sheeran. Original Instagram post here.

In this YouTube video, Ed Sheeran is using the Boss TU-3 Chromatic Tuner for his acoustic guitar. The pedal makes a brief appearance around the 3:13 mark.

Trevor, Ed's sound tech, says, "a 2000-series radio mic fitted with a custom 5235 capsule, which is relayed through a Sennheiser EM2050 radio system straight to the front of the house and a Sennheiser e945 vocal loop mic, which again runs into the new loop system," in this interview.

Ed Sheeran used the lowden WL-25 during the production of his album Divide

During Ed Sheeran's "Divide" Tour in 2018, his loop system technician, David White, utilizes the Akai Professional MPD226 to manage the transition between the main and backup MacBook setups. This setup is detailed in a YouTube video by mothergrid, showcasing the tour's sound system design.

In a live performance of "Wayfaring Stranger" on YouTube, Ed Sheeran uses the Beyerdynamic DT 770 PRO headphones to monitor his loop.

“Ed’s original guitar was quite noisy and buzzy. It sounded like he was on the road and had just plugged in quickly to get an idea down. So I selfishly wanted a cleaner guitar sound and had a couple of guys coming in to replay the guitar part, but it never sounded anywhere near as good. It just kept sounding too different and without the right feel. So I decided to go with Ed’s guitar and treated it with the Waves NS1 noise suppressor, the Waves GTR plug-in, and filtered it with the FabFilter Pro-MB, and an Avid EQ, taking out around 3kHz."

Same model and brand as his previous "X" guitar expect the inlays are marked with a divide symbol to promote his upcoming album. The wood used for the back and sides seem to be a darker colour than his x guitar which makes us think it could be mahogany or African mahogany back and sides! Fitted with Fishman Matrix Infinity most probably. As seen on Ed Sheeran's Radio 1 interview on 6th January 2017!

Around 6:06 into the video, you can see the last set of buttons line up just before the last keyboard octave, which corresponds to the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S61. There is also a live performance where he opted for the 49-key version of the same controller.

That was until we tried Digital 9000; unlike others we tried, we found it sounded even better than the cable".
