Jonny Greenwood

It is undoubtedly the most commonly used guitar by Greenwood. Greenwoods model features a Maple neck and sunburst finish.

Jonny Greenwood, guitarist of Radiohead, can frequently be seen playing a vintage 1975 Starcaster on stage.

"Purchased and modified in 1996(probably) or 1997, after his original Tele was stolen in October 1995. This guitar has been converted into a Telecaster Plus and has the same modifications* and pickups as his main Plus. It is also from ‘92 - ‘93(?).Jonny brings this guitar on every tour as a backup.

Jonny’s No2 Telecaster is most likely an American Telecaster Standard. (The MIM Standard had 21 frets rather than 22, and the American Deluxe was contoured.) From the mid 90’s, so a first model American Standard. The bridge on the guitar was replaced with one shaped like that of a standard Telecaster, but which has a larger hole to fit a humbucker. Killswitch, strange knob, removal of volume knob.

At some time around In Rainbows era, Plank fitted it with a Korg Kaoss Pad KP2 screen(as can be seen in this photo), but it has yet to be used live."

Here Jonny can be seen standing with a Fender Telecaster for Creep on Top Of The Pops. That tv show used pre-recorded instrumentals with live vocals, so the guitar was just for show.

Jonny Greenwood used a Gibson Hummingbird guitar, originally Thom Yorke's, during the Haiti Benefit show for the performance of "Faust Arp." This is evidenced by a user-uploaded photo on Tumblr.

Jonny Greenwood adquired this guitar in the early 90's . This guitar was stolen in Denver , 1995. But he reacquired in 2014 . Jonny used the guitar in Radiohead's concert (Live at Astoria) in 1994 . He used the guitar for these 3 songs : "My iron Lung" , "Bones" & "Black Star" .

Obtained pre-In Rainbows Era. Used, during soundchecks at least, for touring during that period(circa 2006), and during recording sessions, though it is unknown if any recordings of the instrument made it to the final album. It is not known to have seen use since In Rainbows. thekingofgear.com

In an image featured on NME.COM, Jonny Greenwood is seen playing a Gibson Les Paul Goldtop with a natural finish, highlighting its distinctive wood grain.

It seems that Jonny has in his gear also a Fender Modern Player Starcaster along with his old Fender Starcaster which has been used since 1996. This new guitar first appeared in October 2015 when Jonny was in Budapest with the LCO and the second appearence was made on October 25 2019 in Fermo for the benefit performance at the Teatro Dell'Aquila.

This guitar is only used for the song The Daily Mail.

At around 2:08, Jonny can be clearly seen with Takamine EN10C acoustic guitar.

In this video at 1:55 we can see Greenwood is seen playing a Rickenbacker 350.

In a user-uploaded photo, Jonny Greenwood is seen playing a Gibson Les Paul Deluxe Cherry Sunburst during a concert at the Alamo Drafthouse. This guitar is part of his setup for the Junun tour and is listed in his gear list for side projects, including performances with Radiohead's side bands. While he uses different guitars with Radiohead, the Les Paul Deluxe is a key instrument for his side ventures. Additionally, he employs a streamlined pedalboard for these projects, featuring a selection of his favorite pedals.

Greenwood, just like Thom used a Lakewood M-14 (as shown in this image).

Jonny used Thom’s heavily-modified Telecaster Standard for a performance with the London Contemporary Orchestra in Budapest on October 17, 2015. It may be the same guitar as the “Black Telecaster” listed above.

Jonny can be seen with this Rickenbacker 350, a rental, in the Stop Whispering music video, but he never actually used it on any recordings.

Based on he photo below, the guitar appears to be an F-series dreadnought from the 70s or early-80s. It’s probably an F-35.
