Kirk Hammett is confirmed to use the Mesa/Boogie Mark IIC++ Head, as detailed in the article "A History of the Mesa Boogie Mark II Series." The "++ Mod" was a special modification for artists like Hammett, which increased gain in the Lead Channel, and was performed on approximately 20 units before the end of the IIC+ production.

This one survived, according to Kirk, because he “wanted a guitar to keep, not smash!” This surviving Ibanez RG560 features a 25.5 inch scale length maple neck with a 24 fret rosewood fretboard, pearl dot inlays, a black locking nut and string retainer, and six black chrome Gotoh tuners. The basswood body is finished in black and features black plastics, black chrome knurled control knobs, and a black chrome locking tremolo bridge. It retains its original Ibanez pickups (two S1 single coils and a V2 humbucker in the bridge position) wired to a five way selector switch and master volume and tone controls.
A 2000s Gibson Mastertone Granada Five String Banjo, FON #8906-85, with gold hardware and a sunburst back finish.
This Gibson Mastertone Granada banjo features a 26.44 inch scale length flame maple neck with a bound 22 fret rosewood fretboard, mother of pearl position marker inlays, five gold-plated planetary Gibson branded tuners with pearloid buttons, and mother of pearl headstock inlays. The Body features gold plated rim hardware including the armrest and the “Granada” tailpiece, and a flame maple resonator finished in sunburst with multi ply top and back binding.
A 2005 ESP Alexi Laiho Signature Series V electric guitar, serial #SS0545103, in black finish with yellow pinstripes. A signature model for the late Children of Bodom frontman. It features a 25.5 inch scale length thru-body maple neck with a bound 24 fret ebony fretboard with pearloid sawtooth inlays, a bout headstock, a black locking nut, string retainer, and six black chrome Gotoh tuners. The offset V-shaped alder body is finished in black with yellow pinstripes and black pickup surround, a black chrome Floyd Rose bridge, an EMG pickup, and a single volume control. On the bass side of the headstock is a piece of tape that is inscribed D#, which refers to tuning a half step down.
A screen matched 2022 LTD KH-2 electric guitar, serial #W22051837, featuring an Arctic Metal finish and covered in artwork done by Kirk Hammett of Metallica in black felt tip pen. The guitar can be seen being played by Kirk Hammett in the official music video for the Metallica song “Sleepwalk My Life Away”
