Lianne La Havas' Gear
In this photo, Lianne La Havas can be seen playing a Harmony Alden H45 Stratotone. In this Guitar World interview, when asked about her guitars, she makes reference to what could possibly be this guitar. In various photos of her playing live, a Danelectro does not make an appearance, leading to the conclusion that she's actually talking about her Hamony Alden Stratotone:
"My guitar is a Danelectro, and it’s a Silvertone model from 1964, and it’s a hollow body. And I found it in a little store in New York in the Lower East Side called Rivington Guitars. I had two other electric guitars before that. But this was the first time that I saved up money to buy specifically a guitar that I would really like to play. And I found that one through the guy in the shop, and he just brought it to me. I never would’ve picked it out just looking at it. Actually, I can’t imagine playing any other guitar now. It feels like I’ve owned it for a lot longer than I have. I’ve had it for a year now, and it’s my favorite."
In this photo from a June 2013 Guitar Player ad, Lianne La Havas is holding her James Trussart Deluxe Steelcaster in Sea Foam Green. She is quoted as saying:
"I had always been skeptical of brand new guitars. I've always felt instruments should have a story behind them or a previous life in order to hear their character, until my Sea Foam Green Trussart found me. It has a depth and warmth of tone without compromising the overall detail of the sound; this is what I'd been searching for and didn't expect to fall in love so easily, not to mention the outer beauty and workmanship of this masterful guitar. I'm sold."
The Trussart website also lists the details of her specific guitar:
- Sea Foam Green on Cream Deluxe SteelCaster with B16 Bigsby
- Perforated Back
- Paisley Engraved Pickguard and Headcap
- 62 Grey Stained Maple Neck and Fingerboard
- Arcane Inc. Tele Bridge and TV Jones Classic Neck Pickups
In this Instagram photo from Feb 2013, she shows this guitar, newly purchased. She says:
"I done went and got me a new guitar in Hollywood last week. I've named him "Lil' Prince."

Is this video, we can see Lianne La Havas performing while walking on the street with a Danelectro Honeytone amp attached to her back.
Lianne La Havas has mentioned using a SansAmp for most of the guitars on her album "Is Your Love Big Enough?". The specific model however is not specified.
From Guitar World:
What do you plug it into?
On stage, normally, I have a Fender Hot Rod Deluxe when I play my gigs with the band. But when I’m playing just solo, I’ll normally go through the DI and I’ve got a SansAmp, which I think the sound comes out really nice. That’s what I recorded, actually, for the guitar on the album. It’s mostly through a SansAmp. Or I have a portable Roland Cube Amp, which is like a practice amp, so I take that around with me as well.
The EHX Holy Grail Reverb pedal can be clearly seen at Lianne's feet at the 1:03 mark in this live performance of 'Is Your Love Big Enough?'
She can be clearly seen playing a fender jazz bass in the photo.
