In this post matt shows off his new epiphone signature model. This is an updated version of his original signature les paul custom. It features his signature fishman pickups. The guitar comes in either black or white finish, with evertune or standard bridge options. The guitar is loosely based on the les Paul custom he got at 12 which was on almost every trivium recording
The black Gibson Les Paul Custom that was gifted to Matt Heafy by his father, which he used extensively on tour and to record all of Trivium's records until his endorsement with Epiphone. His Epiphone signature model is based on this guitar.

Matt Heafy also uses 7 string Explorers as his main 7-string guitars of choice live before his endorsement with Epiphone.
Matt has a 6505 amp in his collection. He states that throughout trivium’s history, they have always used a 5150 style amp. Either a peavey 5150, evh 5150 III, or a Peavey 6505
At 0:22 in this video about Matt Heafy's signature Dean guitar, he starts talking about the creation of this Dean Guitars manufactured signature series guitar. It is based on the Dead Guitar ML guitar, and he says "So I decided to take something I love, the ML, and basically hot rod it and customize it to my specs." Some of those specs include 24 frets, a carved away neck for maximum playability, one master volume knob, and an input jack on the side.

In this post Fishman announces that Matt has become a Fishman artist. Matt states that he was given a set of modern fluence pickups by brand rep Ken Susi. Ken gave him this set to try during the trivium set. Matt claims he instantly loved the pickups. he claimed it was what he was missing from his live setup. He claims the pickuos have helped him become a bettert guitar player
He used it extensively live during his period with Dean guitars during the late 2000's and during instructional videos during the same era.
Matt has a percision drive in his setup. He was given this by a twitch mod of his. He was told this is the drive pedal you should use

Matt uses fret wraps on his guitars. he uses this to stop string noise on his guitars. this is especially helpful when using extended range instruments
In this video Matt unboxes the care package he was sent by beyer. one such item he was sent was the DT 240 pro headphones. he uses these as his main travel listening headphones. He claims he was likes listening to music the way it was recorded.
