At 0:43 of this interview, Pinder demonstrates how a Mellotron MkII works and plays the instrument.

On Pinder's official site, it is stated that the Moody Blues used a Mellotron M300 on the album "On the Threshold of a Dream."

On GForceSoftware.com, it is stated that Pinder used the Chamberlin M4: "Geography aside, one of the rarest of all the Chamberlin keyboards has to be the gargantuan, four manual M4. There were only four ever made and originally these were used by uber successful bands such as Mike Pinder (The Moody Blues) and Three Dog Night."
