Nate Newton's Gear
I use a Fender P-Bass, the quintessential punk rock bass.
"... So then, if we wanna get really stupid, we kick in the Two Stroke."
"Coming soon to a @converge concert event or musical recording. @fender American Professional Standard P-Bass featuring my signature pickups the Riffblasters by @lacepickups . Thank you sincerely for all of the support both from Fender and Lace. Shout out to @orangeamplifiers too! - Nate" - From Converge Instagram
Nate's main bass with Converge from the last few years. He's changed the pickguard, but through the finish you can tell it's the same instrument.
"Dave Walling, who plays in Blacklisted, is a huge Misfits/Danzig collector. He actually owns Eerie Von's Aria Pro bass. The classic one with the "twist-a-cain" decals on it. He actually lent it to me to use on the last Converge album."
The AD200 is where I get all the bottom end
(...)the Thunderverb gives me the guitar-amp kind of bite that I like to get, the attack.

Nate Newton switched his amps to Ampeg Venture V12 1,200-watt Bass Head, stating:
A Venture V12 head with 2 4x10 Venture cabinets and it CRUSHES. I can't believe these cabs that weigh 40 pounds each are so damn loud. It's amazing. The head is impressive as well, 1200 Watts solid-state and tons of headroom. Tons of bottom-end and mid-range bite and a little onboard dirt in the SGT circuit to give it a bit of a warm tube amp sound to take away the hard-edged 'plink' that solid-state bass amps can be known for. The onboard compressor is actually helpful too which is something I never thought I'd say. LET'S MAKE NOISES!
Nate further elaborate this on comment section from a post on Punk Rock Bass Players Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/G9Z8nhKuTzxkf5Yb/):
Fairly recently I was invited onboard with Ampeg. I've been using the Venture series amps and I absolutely love them! Ampeg generously offered me these and I say this with complete honesty...they're great. I should say that this is the first Ampeg head i've ever liked. I was an Orange guy for years
Nate shares his current touring rig as of 2024 which consists of 2 Ampeg Venture V12 heads each running 2x12 cabinet (top) and two 4x10 cabinets (bottom). He said this when replying to one of the members in the comment section:
Aaron Krause:
Debating on the venture series stuff. What cab configuration, you running?
Nate Newton:
The head on the left is running the two 4x10 cabs on the bottom with the SVT voicing switched on. The head on the right is running the 2x12 on top with the B15 voicing switched on. Honestly, the 2x12 and extra head is kinda overkill. The 4x10's push a lot more air and project a ton. But it sounds SICK haha
