Per Gessle

In a live performance of "The Big L." in Zürich in 1991, Per Gessle is seen playing a Rickenbacker 360 Electric Guitar. Per Gessle is seen using a Gretsch Silver Sparkle Jet in the official music video for "It's Possible" by Roxette. He acquired this guitar in 1997 during the recording of his solo album, "The World According to Gessle." The guitar also appears in the album's CD sleeve photos.

In the official music video for "Listen To Your Heart," Per Gessle is seen playing a Fender Telecaster. This iconic solid-body electric guitar, known for its groundbreaking design and sound, has been a staple in music since its introduction as the Broadcaster in 1950.

Per bought tis metallic purple gretsch Brian Setzer hotrod in a guitar store in Stockholm in 2003. I first seen him use it on stage during Gyllene Tider’s GT25 live! Tour in 2004. I also seen him use it in 2013 on Swedish TV programs during Gyllene Tider’s 2013 reunion tour.

In a 2015 live performance of "Crush on You" in Budapest, Per Gessle of Roxette is seen playing a Gibson SG Standard, a classic solid-body electric guitar known for its enduring popularity since its introduction in 1961.

Per Gessle first debuted this double cutaway Gretsch White Falcon 2 with bigsby during the single run of Roxette’s third album joyride. The guitar first appeared on “The Big L” video and again briefly during the “Spending My Time” video towards the end. It reappeared during the tourism days in the “Fingertips ‘93” video again later during the “Fireworks” video. Per also used this Gretsch on the “Join the Joyride” and “Crash! Boom! Bang!” Tours and TV appearances in the 90s. I hadn’t seen him use it since but when I met him in 2013 at Bromma Airport in Stockholm before the premiere of Gyllene Tider’s ”Dags att tanka på refrängen Ture” we talked about his guitars and when I asked about his Gretsch collection he assured me he still has them all.

Per Gessle bought this Gretsch Chet Atkins double cutaway with bigsby in 1992 the first time I saw it was on the Roxette how do you do video which was filmed on a rooftop in Stockholm. I also seen him use the guitar on Roxette’s almost unreal video and if you look closely in the Crash Boom Bang album booklet it can be seen here and also on the face of the CBB single CD. I can’t remember if it was used on the 95 tour I will have to check and update.
