Peter Tägtgren

I don't know how much it has changed, really. I mean, in 2002 we went with SansAmp, and on the last tour we did I think I had five Marshall amps hot rodded with the eight Marshall cabs. But this time we're going to go with Kemper. It's like an Axe FX kind of rack. I actually get to simulate the guitar sound I have in the studio. I don't know how it's going to work, but they say it's very simple. I just got it at home today, so I'm going to sit and program it and do everything with it. Hopefully, that's going to be enough. No speakers, only the pre-amps.

This is one of Peter's main guitars. Satin black finish, four knob control layout, black hardware, EMG pickups.

The guitar appears in the PAIN videos "Monkey Business" and "Have a drink on me". Tägtgren also used this guitar for two PAIN appearances on the Swedish TV4 channel. In 2006, they played "Zombie Slam." In 2008, they played "I'm going in" and "Follow me" featuring Annette Olson. The male co-host of the show actually commented on Peters guitar (in Swedish): "Nice guitar, Les Paul-style, but lighter, so you don't get back pain".

Tägtgren used this guitar in the early HYPOCRISY years, but also took it out on the road when he was the live guitarist for MARDUK in 1996-1997. It was also seen live on the "Abducted" tour.

It is also featured in the HYPOCRISY videos "Pleasure of Molestation" (top image) and "Inferior Devoties".

The Rhoads V used in the "Left to Rot" video has a brass plate under the controls.

The music video for Chemical Whore shows Peter playing a Satin Black ESP Snakebyte. This is definitely along the lines of what we expect from Peter as he has used many ESP LTD explorer type guitars over the years. I believe the guitar still has the EMG James Hetfield Signature pickups in it.

In this promo video of the recording of Lindeman's album Peter shows this guitar. It is an older version from 2014 that has EMG's instead of the fishman picups.

Peter Tägtgren is known to favor the white ESP Eclipse, specifically the pre-lawsuit models. He owns both the Standard Series Eclipse-I and a custom model with similar specifications, characterized by a larger, more Gibson-like horn and a four-knob configuration. This is evidenced by a user-uploaded photo.

During Pain live shows, Peter Tägtgren sometimes plays an ESP UltraTone SL baritone guitar. It is a discontinued model by ESP featuring a 27 inch scale.
