ESP James Hetfield Snakebyte Electric Guitar Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The ESP Snakebyte guitar, designed in collaboration with Metallica's James Hetfield, shines with its lightweight mahogany build and iconic Explorer-inspired shape. Its EMG pickups deliver the crushing tones Metallica fans crave, and the neck's comfort is unmatched. However, it lacks a tone control, requiring amp adjustments for certain mid-range tones. While it's tailored for metalheads seeking raw power, it might not suit those looking for warm, vintage tones. Overall, the Snakebyte is a robust choice for metal enthusiasts, but limited in versatility for other genres.

ESP LTD SnakeByte review | MusicRadar

musicradar.com

The ESP Snakebyte Electric Guitar is a metal player's dream, delivering crushing yet clear tones and a sleek aesthetic. Praised for its build quality, playability, and affordability, it brings James Hetfield's signature sound closer to fans. However, the lack of Hetfield signature pickups is a downside. This guitar excels in metal, with its mahogany body and EMG pickups providing the perfect mix of power and clarity. While it may not win versatility awards, its strong association with Hetfield and modern metal tones make it a great choice for genre enthusiasts.

The music video for Chemical Whore shows Peter playing a Satin Black ESP Snakebyte. This is definitely along the lines of what we expect from Peter as he has used many ESP LTD explorer type guitars over the years. I believe the guitar still has the EMG James Hetfield Signature pickups in it.
