In a Tweet response, Reeves explains the mod evolution of his Red Fernandes Dragonfly.

"The guitar pictured started out as a Dragonfly that came to me from Fernandes. Then I changed it over time. First I replaced the neck with one from a '67 Telecaster, refretted with my preferred jumbo frets and with Sperzel locking tuners added.

I replaced the middle pickup with a DiMarzio Virtual Vintage 60s style & replaced the Fernandes sustainer with a Sustainiac. The bridge pickup sounded good so I kept It. Also original are the Gotoh bridge, the non-Sustainiac wiring, and the "mother-of-pearl" pickguard.

Also over time, the red paint on the body chipped, revealing bits of the original turquoisey green. I'd asked Fernandes for a red instrument; they evidently repainted one to give me. I really like the chipped result, as the opposing color frequencies make each chip look 3D.

Other modifications: a kill switch hidden in the pickguard, and replacement knobs with tops that match the pickguard. This was a favored guitar from 1998/1999 (when I made Hours with David Bowie) through 2009 (when I started recording Reeves Gabrels & His Imaginary Friends)."

This is the main reeves gabrels signature model, obviously used by him live and on studio.

Reeves Gabrels is a signature artist with Reverend guitars and has recently released his third signature guitar with Reverend, the Dirtbike.

Here, Reeves uses the Les Paul Junior on VH1 Storytellers alongside Divid Bowie.

He also explains his love for this guitar at Summer NAMM 2017 in a video about his new Reverand model.

Reeves Gabrels began using the Reverend Six Gun Bass VI during the "Shows of a Lost World" tour with The Cure.

Reeves Gabrels uses the Gibson Chet Atkins CE guitar for the song "Lullaby" with The Cure during live performances, as evidenced in the video "THE CURE - LULLABY" directed by Tim Pope and available on YouTube by Mercury Studios.

Reeves Gabrels uses ths guitar with the cure on live shows, part of his signature line.

Reeves Gabrels previously used the Reverend Rick Vito Signature guitar during live performances with The Cure. However, he did not use this guitar during the "Shows of a Lost World" tour in 2022-2023. This information is supported by a user-uploaded photo.

Reeves Gabrels is seen playing a Gibson Les Paul Goldtop P90 Electric Guitar during The Cure's performance of "Shake Dog Shake" at the "Shows of a Lost World" tour.

In this article on the steinbergerworld website, Reeves Gabrels explained how the Tin Machine's era chrome Steinberger GL guitar was born.

Reeves Gabrels collaborated with Reverend Guitars to produce the Reverend Reeves Gabrels Spacehawk, his second signature model with the brand. According to Reverend Guitars, this guitar takes the semi-hollow design to another level.

While touring with David Bowie in the mid to late 1990s, Gabrels was playing a highly customized Parker Nitefly with a Roland MIDI pickup. He is also pictured in a 1990s Parker print ad for the Nitefly, with a red one that was likely used only for the photo and not one of Gabrels' own guitars.

Pictured with a Steinberger GM4, possibly a GM4T as he was using the Transtrem versions of the Steinberger GL when he was in Tin Machine.
