Synyster Gates

Unveiled at NAMM 2017, Gates traded in his standard Seymour Duncan Invader SH-8/ Sustaniac combo for Schecter custom shop signature pickups and his deathbat/syn inlays for his new monogram.

In this Premier Guitar video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nDj6XodwOYU), Gates' guitar tech talks about their backstage amp setup. "It's in an isolation box...we don't have any amps onstage. The sound is isolated. You can gain up the amps and not get any ambient noise...you know, crank up the amps, and its nice," Gates' tech says at (7:00).

Gates has this hooked up to one of two Fractal Audio Axe-FX II units to control the effect patches.

He uses two of these rack units live, with one pack designated for each guitar (3 for one of each tuning he uses, and a 4th he uses for a guitar specially set up for a mid-show guitar solo). With these racks, all 4 guitars are always plugged in and can be switched between seamlessly throughout the set.
