@jimmarchi1 I really respect all ur knowledge! It's very impressive! About the Es-339, I have a discontinued vintage version that is definatley as good as a gibson. But ur info is amazing! Thanks bro!

its not a vintage model, LOL came out in the very late 90s or alter even, I forget.... definitely once I was old enough to drink and drive! how can you have a vintage example f a 90s/2000s design? I do not think this word means what you think it means. for real, maybe you played a really bad Gibson 339 by way of comparison. Even if you played a bad example gibby and have a magic 'vintage' epi? I gotta flame you here and say that there is no way those Chinese or Korean dudes sat and overfret bound the neck or attende to any of the myriad details thata re done by people at the Gibson Memphis factory. Maybe yours is killer. Whatever you say man. I've been hearing the 'golden epi' story since the early 90s.I've never experienced it, but the owners of those epis are really happy.Boom we'll tell you that gibsons and epis suck equally... you should get an 80s Takamine with extra spikes on it.

maybe your hands... I am not a huge 339 fan, but even the 339 studio from a few eyars ago was a distinct cut (or 2) above the epis... there's something really off about the feel of the epi pro series fretboards (like the radius isn't right, i dunno) and thanks to the lack of overfret binding the fret dress is always sloppy as hell. I do not expect to take a rband name guitar home and need to dress the frets, sorry epi! I am not going to say you can't like your guitar, but saying its as good as a Gibson 'hands down' ??? How many Gibson ES guitars have you actually owned to make that' statement? Sorry, I don't eman to beat up on you or be a snob but you're an intermediate player making outrageous claims. I can't keep my mouth shut, not ona Friday!

U2 only used analog delay on their first 2 or 3 records, after that the Edge ditched his 2 EHX memory mans for a Kord SDD rack unit. I have the current pedal version and its does mid-period U2 as well as many other things you've heard in the early 80s. and the built in preamp is a big aprt of the U2 thing sicne the guy used it like an always on boost into his vox. Late period U2 is a TC 2290 dynamic delay. Get a flashback, problem solved (not to mention etting some great tape mdoels that are almost as realistic as a strymon and a hell of a lot more tweakable thanks to the tone print software). I like the X4 a lot, but the smaller flashbacks are good too.... don't get an alter ego, it doesn't have a 2290 mode, though the modes thata re unique to it are a lot of fun. DO NOT sell your carbon copy. You will elarn to love it for what it is. Great slap tones t be had and for ong delays you're going to get that fun signal degradation like you hear in foo fighter's Rope. its a really extreme and cheesy use of the analog delay 'fade out', but that's what you use the carbon copy for versus digital delays or tape/digitally-modelled-tape which ah a different degradation that's less overt unless the unit hasn't been serviced. If I recall, the ebst foo fighter type analog delay I ever owned was a boss DM2 or DM3 from the 80s, but tis been awhile, I ahda couple Ibanezes I sold over the years as well as currently having a carbon cpy floating around in my spare epdal drawer... ifyou're really into delay please look out for my upcoming reviews of the new delays debuting at NAMM this week. As DOD, MXR, Wampler etc send me demo units I will be adding a whole pile of reviews of this new generation of delay pedals!

this is actually a silicon transistor version of the dirty boy fuzz, Duncan licensed the circuit from blues saraceno's dad instead of just ripping it off (its just a modified fuzzface/tonebender2.5)... mad props to Seymour for kicking cash to the innovator who added that tweak control
