Had this thing for like 10 years and it's still prefect. Has the novelty of an on/off switch - take that sm58 fanboys!
I get it that the whole Santana thing is a lush smooth (no pun intended) but this thing has NO LIFE or treble to it. I genuinely think it is the least inspiring guitar I have ever owned.
Looks stunning, doesn't sound that good and is guaranteed to get chipped on every door frame in your house. Can't sell the thing because I'd feel a total tool!
If you aren't one of the bom-slap open e string slap typical slap players and just want to chug out some decent notes then buy one of these. Cuts through the whole mix like a freight train and just sounds fit especially with a pick!
The guitar is heavy as hell but feels solid. I've got one of the decent Indian original ones with a gold Sunn logo. Don't buy the ones with the black horse as they are jank. I've recently switched out the pickups for a SSH set up. P.S the body is already routed out as standard for a hum bucker on the bridge as they did sell as SSH variant as standard. If you're looking for an alternative to a fender and don't want to look like a 10 year old with a Squier then get one of these.
I want an SJ-200 but I'm poor just like everyone else. Put on a fisherman rare earth and it is lush. Despite adjusting action and nut it still plays high but that's part of the charm. If you wanted an easy to play guitar you'd get a Taylor but I've had loads of comments on how nice the guitar sounds and looks. It's one of those guitars you think about changing but just looks to damn good on the wall and you know you'd miss it.
I use this alongside a Mooer daisy chain and it has enough current to power everything.
I've used this case for over 10 years and it is still in perfect condition (even the flap inside for the accessories). It takes an SG, Tele, Strat, Schecter with Floyd - everything! I've stood on it, put PA on it, dropped it and no issues at all.
Ok hear me out - I used it on my P-Bass and it hurt like hell on my shoulder because the strap adjuster was on my collar bone but, when you switch it so the logo is at the bottom of the guitar it feels great and very comfortable. I totally don't freak out about my strap coming off like my old Levys seatbelt strap did. I'm getting them for all of my guitars from now on. I know you could just unclip and use the same strap on any guitar but I'd not want the fuss so just gonna get a strap for each guitar. I bought one cause Boys Like Girls use them.
It tunes bass, mandolin, acoustic, electric - friggin everything. It's incredibly accurate and bright as a lighthouse! Don't fart about with anything else - just get one of these and it has a simple on off unlike the new Tu-3
I wanted a chorus for Love Me by The 1975 and this doesn't have enough Chorus. Feels a little lost in the mix no matter what you do with it. Just wait and get a Boss instead.
Reasonable little pedal if you're a tight git like me. It's O.k and nothing more than that. Feels like it doesn't have enough depth despite playing with it a lot. The 9V battery compartment feels cheap and breakable but hasn't broken yet. Only get one if it is cheap.
I bought one cause Billy has one and to be fair I love his sound. This is probably the only pedal on my board that I could not be without and would buy again every time in heartbeat. So maybe you want a nice pedal that gives you a slightly broken up sound but doesn't mush your sound or put too much gain in the mix, this is the pedal for you. It can be cranked but I just like it on minima gain.
This is one of those purchases that might seem really, really boring and OTT but so totally worth it every time you set up to play. The case is one of the best parts about it as it has a shoulder strap and is incredibly strong even with the whole board maxed out with pedals. I love that you can run all the cables under neath the gaps but the guys at PedalTrain had the brains to include all the velcro you could need for the bottom of pedals and the top of the board.
If you put the speed to nothing and the depth to max it sounds lush! Really nice for when just a clean sound is too plain. I wish there was a mix level though as it's either on or off.
The whole sending a tone through the strings still amazes people and feels a bit like Voodoo but - the reason I like it is that it has 1 knob so I can adjust the amount of reverb with my foot when live. Brilliant, brilliant reverb pedal for when you buy a valve amp that doesn't come with it.
Take down the tone to remove the fizz and suddenly this thing does mid scooped chunk! I also discovered that if you use this on low gain settings with an od-3 - it sings! Bought one again cause it was my first distortion/od pedal.
I only use this for the hold function as everything else sounds pretty crap. The looper is awful as doesn't quantise so don't bother with that. Oh actually, I do use the solo button if I want some more volume when the hold function is on.
Great pedal in all honesty. I don't think the 'level' really changes the volume that much, which is a shame as I'm using this as part of my gain stages. Sound proper nice though!
Ok so it is loud and not as heavy as a 4x12 stack but... I don't like the gain on this thing. I thought I'd like the whole digital sound processing thing and don't get me wrong it's come a long way from the days of the early Line 6 pod's but it's till fizzy and bodiless. I want to go back to valve.
