Tyler Joseph's Gear
tyler wears a pair of sony mdr-7506 studio monitor headphones with yellow tape on them throughout the chlorine music video (starting at 0:16)
Tyler Joseph is using one Squier (by Fender) Jaguar Short Scale Bass in this music video.
At 1:51 Josh says that his footpedal is connected to his computer, which runs ableton live, to start and stop tracks
The beginning sound is from the preset "Just Horrible" under the "Textures and FX" tab. It comes standard with reFX Nexus 2.
It is also heard in fake out out at 2:13 with the Benny Dance SEQ A preset under Single Layered Sequenced tab. You can also hear at 0:00 the preset Adagio under the Dance Leads tab being used as the main synth that is heard throughout the entire track.
"Dance Piccolo" of the Classical library in stock Nexus 2 is used for "Stressed Out".
Find it on:
Tyler is playing a white Bass in the 'My Blood' Video. His known Squier Jaguar Short scale is hanging on the wall to the right along with a Uke and 2 other Basses, but one slot is missing (obviously the Bass he is playing). In the Beats 1 / Apple Music Interview the white Precision Bass can be seen behind Tyler on the wall.
In the entirety of the 'Ride' music video he is using this bass. In the Bonaroo concert video from 26:13 to 32:35 he is using it for No Women No Cry and Ride.
Tyler uses the guitar in this video on his studio.
Tyler Joseph can be seen playing the Kala KA-KCGE-C Hawaiian Koa Tenor Cutaway Ukulele with EQ in this live performance of We Don't Believe What's On TV, from Lollapalooza Argentina 2016. At 2:37 into the video a close-up shot of the ukulele can be seen.
At 7:32 in this video with Shure, Tyler talks about his KSM9HS.
At the end of this video Tyler goes home to his house and plays Hometown on his Yamaha Grand Piano.
A Fender Mustang PJ bass is seen hanging on the wall in the official audio video for "My Blood". It can be identified as the PJ model by the full-sized Precision pickup (standard Mustang Basses have their own much smaller split coil pickup). It is most likely Torino Red.
it can be seen throughout this video behind tyler next to his whire bass but the full body can be best seen at 32:06 where you can see how exact it matches the Fender player series jazz bass.
You can hear the sound "Wing Upright - Lonely Basement" Throughout this song and also the entirety of trench. (Jumpsuit, Morph, Chlorine, Smithereens, Neon Gravestones, The hype, Bandito, Pet Cheetah, Leave the City) Along with other presets from this plugin (Weltmeister Claviset EP - Retropluck, Rhodes 1946 Pre-Piano - Retrospace, etc.)
From 4:06 to 4:14 it shows the face of the Yamaha S series synthesizer (which matches only the Yamaha S08). This is the synthesizer that Tyler uses in just about every one of his performances. Even though he refers to it as his "piano" it is simply the S08 inside of one of two piano cabinets making it look like a traditional upright.
Here is a picture of Tyler Joseph holding the Luna High Tide Concert A/E as a "ukulele gun." It can be easily identified elsewhere by the high tide fret markers.
There are a few shots of his "piano" as he calls it. You can see the it clearly from above in a picture from ERS 2016 Nashville, uploaded in October 15 2016. It has a few red paint or tape on it and he keeps an iPad on the piano aswell, but you can see it resembles the CP4
Tyler Joseph used the Darkglass Microtubes B7K Ultra V2 Bass Preamp Pedal during the writing and recording of "Trench," as shown in his Instagram post detailing the creation of his home studio.
Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots is seen using a Fender American Original '50s Precision Bass in White Blonde with a gold pickguard, as noted in a Pinterest post by ari. The post highlights the distinctive 'my fren' tape on his bass guitars.
He plays what appears to be a white player series p-bass with a Pau ferro fretboard at 27:06
A Fender Jazz Bass of some description can be seen hanging on the wall in the official audio video for "My Blood".
around 0:23 seconds of the video Tyler is shown to be using an apple imac in his home studio
At 1:31 in this video, you can see Tyler in the studio looking at a screen with avid pro tools 12 on it. This could suggest this is what they used for Vocals/arrangement of tracks in Blurryface/Heathens
In this live performance, you can see Tyler using a MacBook Pro.
Tyler Joseph received the Gamechanger Audio Third Man Records Plasma Coil pedal from Jack White, as mentioned in a tweet where Joseph shared his excitement about receiving guitar pedals and vinyl from Third Man Records.
In this source, you can so Tyler Joseph using this legendary microphone from 23:34 onwards for looping his autotuned vocals.
In this video, Tyler plays the song "Migraine" on a miniature piano keyboard given to him at the minute 0:46 mark. The keyboard generally runs for 49 U.S. dollars, but it has run for 39 at select retailers.
Said bass can be seen at the 3:06 mark. Only seen being used in this video to date.
In the video "Twenty One Pilots EBS" by Ruslan Yarulin on YouTube, Tyler Joseph can be seen using the Yamaha S90 ES during the performance.
Tyler has one in his home studio. Hung on the wall to the right between his basses
From 2:05 on, Tyler uses a Shure SM58 with a light inside it.
