Description
Introducing the Gamechanger Audio Third Man Records Plasma Coil, a distinctive guitar pedal that truly lives up to its name. This unique fuzz effects pedal is a collaboration between Gamechanger Audio and Third Man Records, used by Jack White on The Raconteurs’ album and tour. It's not just a pedal, but a revolution in the realm of overdrive and distortion.
The Plasma Coil utilizes innovative High Voltage Distortion technology, converting your instrument’s signal into a series of high-voltage plasma discharges in a sealed xenon-filled tube. This results in a sizzling overdrive that's responsive and clear. But it doesn’t stop there, it takes distortion to new heights by adding multiple octave-style circuits, and an additional effects footswitch that can be toggled as latching or momentary.
The electric discharge tube not only produces a sharp overdrive but also creates a natural noise-gating device, eliminating unwanted noise and pickup hum. This produces strong contrasts between staccato notes, making your performance stand out. Moreover, the visible bolts of lightning that react to the input signal offer a captivating visual experience. It's like playing a bolt of electricity!

A glorious box of angry bees
This pedal is a lot of fun — gritty, modern distortion tone that sounds like Jack White. It offers a really unique clipping effect the you turn down the voltage. I thought the pedal didn't work at first, because the different modes from the center knob didn't sound any different, until I figured out I had to press the button on the right hand side for those to engage.
