my first modulation pedal. this thing is definitely made for heavy sonic experimentation. extremely colorful analog sound. It is secretly a really great slapback delay as well.
The m40x's are supposed to be even flatter than the m-50's. I've been using them as my second pair of headphones for a while now and i have no complaints. They sound great and the build quality is good. I like the detachable cable. I bought these for clients to use then they come over and record.
Handmade in Sweden. The CM3s sound almost identical to the schoeps cm6's. They have a super flat frequency response. Amazing for acoustic instruments and drum overheads. The self noise is a bit high compared to DPA/Neumann/Schopes, but if you're trying to get clean sounds for very little money then consider these.
Its a classic wah, but with much more flexibility.
The harmonies on the whammy are very clean compared to an analog octaver. Great for jazz solos and crazy pitch bending effects. The chorus on the whammy is pretty underrated.
The trembulator is handmade in Scotland. They even do custom artwork! The tremolo circuit is extremely fast and deep, resulting in some really unique sounds. This pedal is very different from an amp trem. You can dial it back and get classic tremolo sounds too, but thats boring! Great sound design tool for analog signal paths.
This delay can do anything. The presets and all of the interesting functions that they built into it are cool, but the the Tone Print ability is what makes this incredible. You can program your own delay on your computer and send it to the pedal! amazing.
Its accurate and the display is nice. What else do you want?
This thing is so gritty and dark. It just has the most amazing character to it. Perfect for pairing with clean digital delays. I would never do a gig or session without it. The self oscillation is gnarly, and it makes a great slapback tone. I wish it had a more modulation.
Its every tube screamer in one pedal! I Replaced my Fulltone FD-2 with this. The palisades incredibly versatile, it has literally hundreds of possible combinations. When fully cranked you can almost make this thing sound like a fuzz. Its like a laboratory for guitar overdrive.
Everyone needs this. It sounds great and is dirt cheap. The functionality is insane.
Echoboy and decapitator find there way into all of my sessions. Cant say enough good things about soundtoys. They've saved so many boring guitar and keyboard tones for me.
Does a great job separating your amp from the floor or stage. This thing can really clean up your low end if the surface you're playing on is not ideal.
Its got that classic vox sound. Very bright and lots of low end as well. Good onboard EQ options help tame it. Beautiful spring reverb and tremolo. Sounds awesome when cranked. Takes pedals wonderfully. Good amp for live and recording. Reasonably sized so its not that much of a pain to carry around. Comes with really low end Chinese tubes. Upgrade to some sovteks or JJ's ASAP. Could also use a speaker upgrade.
The vintage 414's are much more interesting mics than the current ones. They're completely different on the inside. I got mine on Ebay for around $350 in 2013. It's extremely versatile, I've used it on sax, room, kick, guitar cab, upright bass, and vocals. Its a bit dark compared to a modern XL-II. Mine is from the late 80's.
If you do recording, a 57 is mandatory! Best guitar amp and snare mic. Indestructible and reliable.
Bought in 2009 so i'd have something to pair with my telecaster. My main guitar for jazz gigs and very useful in the studio. Huge sound! I've flown on dozens of flights with it and never had any problems.
Way faster than anything i'd ever need it for. Handles all audio applications with ease. Extremely light weight and durable. Can overheat in the summertime if you aren't careful.
I used this guitar for most styles of music. It sounds incredible and its so simple that I never have to worry about it breaking when taking it on flights and trains. Purchased in 2005 for $250. I put Fender Vintage Noiseless pickups in it in 2009. Responds amazingly to subtitles when I play, and sounds beautiful with OD pedals.
Great headphones for listening, tracking, and mixing. I use these all the time when monitors are not available. Once you learn their frequency response, you can get some pretty flat mixes out of them. The bass is a little hyped and theres a treble boost that will make you think your mixes are brighter than they actually are.
