An astoundingly neutral sound at a budget-friendly price, the Line Audio CM3 punches above its weight, offering an uncolored and natural audio capture that rivals more expensive microphones. While it lacks additional features like pad or high-pass filters, its simplicity and impressive performance make it a no-brainer for budget-conscious musicians. With its Swedish craftsmanship, this tiny yet mighty mic firmly establishes itself as a must-have in any recording arsenal.

Line Audio CM3 Review – The Audio Spotlight

theaudiospotlight.com

The Line Audio CM3 microphones impress with their excellent sound quality, compact size, and affordability, making them a must-have for budget-conscious audio professionals. Their natural sound and low self-noise rival much pricier models, like the Sennheiser MKH 8040. However, their low sensitivity means a higher gain is necessary, which might be problematic with noisier preamps. Additionally, they are susceptible to wind noise, so a robust windshield is essential for outdoor recordings. Despite these minor drawbacks, the CM3 offers exceptional value and performance, especially for location recording.

Underrated mic that sounds 10x as expensive as it actually is.

Handmade in Sweden. The CM3s sound almost identical to the schoeps cm6's. They have a super flat frequency response. Amazing for acoustic instruments and drum overheads. The self noise is a bit high compared to DPA/Neumann/Schopes, but if you're trying to get clean sounds for very little money then consider these.
