Moog MF Chorus Review - Premier Guitar

premierguitar.com

The Moog Minifooger MF Chorus pedals a nostalgic path with its rich, all-analog modulation tones, offering guitarists more than just '80s vibes. Its simple controls are elevated by a unique mix toggle, delivering sounds from airy to syrupy, and even a swooping vibrato. With stereo capabilities and expression pedal compatibility, it invites creativity. However, its analog nature means a bit of noise, and at $189, it might be a pricey investment for an effect that's not a staple for everyone. Still, for those seeking sonic exploration, it's a compelling option.

Moog MF Flange & MF Chorus

soundonsound.com

The Moog Minifooger MF Chorus offers remarkable versatility with its ability to deliver flanging, vibrato, chorus, and slap-back delay effects, though it leans towards a warbly rather than shimmery chorus sound. While its asymmetrical modulation waveform may result in an atypical pulse-like effect, the pedal excels in assertive chorus styles and provides a broad tonal range without excessive noise. The pseudo-stereo output and external pedal control further enhance its functionality, making it a strong choice for those seeking varied and characterful modulation effects. However, those after a classic '80s shimmer might find it lacking. Overall, it's a robust, noise-minimized pedal that stands out for its versatility and creative potential.

Moog MF Chorus review

guitar.com

The Moog Minifooger MF Chorus impresses with its blend of classic analog warmth and unique sonic creativity. Its durable, compact design fits well on any pedalboard, and it offers a broad range of sounds from subtle modulation to wild, Moog-esque effects. The pedal's intuitive controls and true bypass feature make it user-friendly, while the potential for expression pedal integration provides additional versatility. Though it can produce complex, unconventional sounds, the MF Chorus is also adept at delivering more traditional, organic choruses and flangers. This balance of usability and innovation makes it a standout choice for musicians seeking both quality and creativity in their modulation effects.

classic chorus with a fire under its butt

as another mod pedal it was a tossup between chorus and flanger, and i absolutely love chorus more than flanger. this is a price friendly chorus pedal with a ton of features. analog bbd chips and a pitch vibe setting. Speaking of flanger, this gets into that territory as well. Option for stereo out as well. Couldn't say no.

insanity

my first modulation pedal. this thing is definitely made for heavy sonic experimentation. extremely colorful analog sound. It is secretly a really great slapback delay as well.

jimmarchi1

worth buying?

vismundcygnus

@jimmarchi1 yeah! if you want a subtle, classic chorus sound then maybe not. but if you want a really creative modulation pedal with a bunch of interesting tones then definitely give it a try.
