excellent quality workhose

i use this for recording keyboard and occasionally playing live. its much more high quality than simmilar midi keyboards, with lots of metal parts and great software.

the last word on tape delays

as a fan of tape delays, it doesnt get any better than this! very intuitive and fast workflow, but still feature rich. very good for gigging and playing with bands since the controls are so well laid out. PRESETS!!! its also a bedroom/ambient musicians dream. you can SOS loop for days and be happy.

a revelation

these are SO MUCH more accurate than my old ATH M50's. my mixing has vastly improved since i got these two years ago, and i work twice as fast since im no longer second guessing my EQ moves.

essential

fantastic parametric EQ, dynamic EQ, analyzer and mastering limiter. i use this at some point on every project that i work on and its well worth the price.

Version: iZotope Ozone 7

great!

super fun and inspiring pedal. it does the whammy thing well, obviously, and its small and takes a standard 9v power...so its a good substitute for the full whammy. but the real magic is using it as a glitch/sound design pedal due to the ramp controls.

vismundcygnus

perfect

its the classic phase 90 sound, but with more usability due to the phase 45 circuit, which is much more subtle. i cant imagine ever needed a different phaser

vismundcygnus

needs an output volume knob

great sounds on this pedal. but why doesnt i have an output volume? the bias knob changes the output level dramatically, and so this pedal is basically unusable in a band context, because when you turn it on you'll either be way too loud or way too quiet. it would be a good pedal for recording or bedroom guitarists though.

blondguru

I came across this a while back, and that volume situation was tricky. However, I didn't notice too much of the tone killed by simply rolling off some of the volume on the guitar. Try that out if you haven't already!

blondguru

I know it's not ideal, but modding is always an option! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=74gzOtBguls

they're encouraging you to clip the 1ststage of your amp to add to the fuzziness, basically forcing you to do it.

get this pedal for MASH

the MASH functionality is awesome; it sounds great in the tape mode. but the pedal tries to do too many things and once and kind of shoots itself in the foot as a result. the tap tempo functionality is a bit iffy. you cant reliably use tap tempo and mash at the same time, because the mash resets your tap tempo time, and if you turn the pedal on or off you will almost always activate the MASH, even for a split second. also TC is a bad company and doesnt want to help their customers. they have a good solution to this problem, but they refuse to give me the software update to solve it. instead they just told me to "buy another delay pedal"

this pedal will give you good tone

there are a lot of good sounds on this pedal. the EQ is VERY powerful and smartly designed. if you turn the gain down it becomes very flat and clean which allows you to sculpt your tone with the EQ and use the output knob to drive your amp how you like. my tele is a bit dark and the treble knob fixed the problem beautifully. the buffer switch is a nice touch too.

vismundcygnus

its exactly what you'd expect

the same as the old one... but smaller! my favorite wah

vismundcygnus

affordable i/o!

this is a great solution for anyone who needs to add 8 quality channels of I/O for a reasonable price. it does its job and thats all anyone could ask for

vismundcygnus

loud and versatile!

the clean channel on this will give you pretty convincing classic Deluxe reverb sounds, and the dirty channel is surprisingly usable. this amp is also VERY loud for 22 watts, i play in a very loud rock band and i never have to put it past 3. its not heavy too, which is clutch.

that's not a very loud rock band then.... I played in some very loud rock abnds and we were talking marshall stacks at 10.

vismundcygnus

a very good mic for any situation

this mic is very intelligently designed, and sounds awesome. perfect for anyone who wants an affordable, modern large condenser. will give you great u87-style sounds on vocals and acoustic guitars.

insanity

my first modulation pedal. this thing is definitely made for heavy sonic experimentation. extremely colorful analog sound. It is secretly a really great slapback delay as well.

worth buying?

vismundcygnus

@jimmarchi1 yeah! if you want a subtle, classic chorus sound then maybe not. but if you want a really creative modulation pedal with a bunch of interesting tones then definitely give it a try.

Great headphones, and even cheaper than the m-50's

The m40x's are supposed to be even flatter than the m-50's. I've been using them as my second pair of headphones for a while now and i have no complaints. They sound great and the build quality is good. I like the detachable cable. I bought these for clients to use then they come over and record.

vismundcygnus

Underrated mic that sounds 10x as expensive as it actually is.

Handmade in Sweden. The CM3s sound almost identical to the schoeps cm6's. They have a super flat frequency response. Amazing for acoustic instruments and drum overheads. The self noise is a bit high compared to DPA/Neumann/Schopes, but if you're trying to get clean sounds for very little money then consider these.

SO useful!

The pedalpower saved so much room for my live rig. Everyone with a pedals should own something like this. It supplies super clean power to everything and saves you a lot of hassle. The added features are really cool. I love cutting the power to my overdrive pedals and making them sound more lo-fi. Having options for non 9v pedals is a nice touch too.

great review!

vismundcygnus

build your own wah sound!

Its a classic wah, but with much more flexibility.

vismundcygnus

Mandatory for indie rock and experimental stuff.

The harmonies on the whammy are very clean compared to an analog octaver. Great for jazz solos and crazy pitch bending effects. The chorus on the whammy is pretty underrated.

vismundcygnus

Insane analog tremolo

The trembulator is handmade in Scotland. They even do custom artwork!

The tremolo circuit is extremely fast and deep, resulting in some really unique sounds. This pedal is very different from an amp trem. You can dial it back and get classic tremolo sounds too, but thats boring! Great sound design tool for analog signal paths.
